We stayed in room 201 a Junior suite. The room was very nice, large with bedroom, bathroom and lounge. High ceilings, lovely fabrics and had a very romantic feel. The location was perfect close to everything with even St. Marks Square just a couple of minutes away. It even has a canal adjacent with access directly into the hotel. Breakfast...

Lets start with the good... the breakfast, staff and location are fantastic. So if you stay here this won't let you down. The price is a little cheeky for what you get but Venice is not cheap when done well. So what sunk our hearts.. well the hotel has some strange practices... 1) the hotel refuse to provide guests with...

Dear Sir, We do thank you for the time you took to share your experience and we are glad to hear about the positive aspects of your stay. Regarding the points that left you with doubts, we inform you that most of the Venetian hotels, in order to prevent fires, do not allow their guests to use an iron, even...

We stayed here for 2 nights in January. After coming from a previous hotel with a very poor shower and bathroom, my number one priority was to have a great bathroom at Aqua Palace. My expectations were met. The bathrooms are lovely; finished in marble, a good size, great walk in shower, and plenty of room to put everything. The...

Aqua Palace is well located away from the madness of St Marcs and Rialto, but oh so close. There is a dock for a private water taxi (which is the way to go). Our room was huge and overlooked the canal. The bath was large with double sinks and an a room walk in shower. Breakfast was quite plentiful and...

My family had two rooms here, and they were both more spacious than I would have dreamed. We also entered our stay reeling from a booking gaff where our confirmed reservation didn't exist at a famous hotel near the Rialto bridge. At any rate, the service at Aqua Palace was spectacular and the breakfast buffet was the best breakfast that...

Centrally located and beautifully maintained, Aqua Palace was fabulous. The building itself is gorgeous and the service was top notch. Communications prior to our arrival were prompt and efficient (use them to coordinate your vaparetto--it was perfect!) Breakfast service was lovely--lots of choices and a very attentive and very welcoming server. Our concierge gave us perfect suggestions, from dining to...

This hotel is excellently located within a short walk of St Marks square and is also an easy walk through to Rialto bridge and San Polo. Whilst the staff were very responsive and helpful and the hotel itself is lovely there were a few things that we felt weren't up to scratch for a hotel of this expense. No coffee...

Simply put, I loved my stay at this hotel. It felt super upscale without costing an arm and a leg, and the room was fantastic with a nice big shower and very comfy bed. Zero complaints with this place. Breakfast was great (and as others have said the breakfast lady is super cute and is super helpful). On top of...

Couldn't recommend staying here more highly. Staff are super friendly and helpful, room was a good size and the location is very central, but far enough away from the action to be quiet at night. Breakfast delicious too.

This 4-star hotel deserves without any doubt a fifth star. I've never seen in Europe such a welcoming and friendly staff. The service is just perfect. The location of the hotel in less than 5 minutes walk from Rialto and San Marco but in a very very quite street/canal. The price is extremely good value for money. Perfect hotel for...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
