Canal Grande is a charming boutique hotel located in Ca' Polacco, an elegant little palace which has just been restored. The furniture of the hotel is characterised by the elegance of Rococo style, typical of 18th century Venice. The lobby with its rose marble fireplace, the breakfast room with its golden mirrors, and the bar with its Venetian red velvet armchairs overlook the Grand Canal and are the best places where to begin and end a day! The small terrace on the Grand Canal gives our Guests the possibility to have a drink in a special setting and to "breathe the air of the canal"!!

Hi Is this hotel a little too far out from the main square or did this not seem a problem. Many Thanks
Dear Ejevans6, we thank you for your inquiry. We inform you that our hotel is located in Santa Croce area. We are 15/20 minutes' walk from Rialto Bridge, the most important bridge of Venice and 30 minutes' walk from Saint Mark's Square. You can join these two sightseeing points like others in the city also using private water taxi (the hotel has its own jetty where to start) o by Vaporetto, the public water bus. Then the hotel is only few minutes' walk from the main points of arrival in Venice, like Piazzale Roma (if you arrive by car or by bus from the airport) and Santa Lucia railway station. This saves you precious time to spend instead to sightseeing. If you like to book your stay at our hotel, please contact us directly to get best accommodation and rates. In the meantime, we remain, Kind regards. Chiara - Reception

We will be arriving from de airport . What is the second best option after a private water taxi ? Are there public water taxis.. will these stop by the hotel ? We will have 2 small carry ons .
The public water taxi system is awesome!! It was a first for my wife and I are but we didn't find any problem navigating our way to the hotel. The people at the ticket sale counters are very helpful when getting a water pass. I would recommend getting a water taxi pass for the duration of your stay, it's easy to hop on and hop off traveling anywhere through the grand Canal is a piece a cake… And a lot of fun. We came in with a rental car and traveled the water taxis to the hotel. As I recall it was about three stops from the car rental agency on the north east side of the island and just one stop after the train station. Walking from the water taxi line to the hotel less than three minutes... and going from the train station to the hotel you'll actually float on by the hotel. I was a little intimidated in the planning stages of our trip but found it pretty straightforward. I hope this helps

How do I get to the hotel and from the hotel to major landmarks? My mom has walking problems. Thank you
Dear Linetlo, we thank you very much for your message and for considering our hotel for your stay in our Venice. We inform you that the hotel has its own private landing for private boat taxis in case you would like to organise private transfers of private tours. Moreover we are only 50 meters far from the nearest Vaporetto stop (we named like this our water bus). It is Riva de Biasio where the line 1 (it goes along the Canal Grande) and the lines 5.1 and 5.2 stop (they follow the outer perimeter of the city). We are even 5 minutes' walk from the railway station and the major dock of the Vaporetto where other lines stop. So if you like to join Rialto Bridge, Saint Mark's square (the top sightseeing spots in Venice) as well as Accademia Museum, Salute church and many other places we suggest the Vaporetto (line 1) that stops all along the Canal Grande or even better the private boat. We kindly ask you to contact us by e.mail so that we will be pleased to submit other information about the best rooms to book for you and your mum as well as other information about tours suitable for you two. In the meantime, we remain, Kind regards. Alessandro Fornasier Manager
