My boyfriend and I stayed at Palazzo Odini for a long weekend and we really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our trip. The apartment was clean and very spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great- a 10 minute walk to the train station/water bus stop with lots of places...

This apartment was perfect for our family of 4. Spotless, lovely Venetian building & decor, yet modern amenities. Quiet & well equipped kitchenette, lovely hosts, good value, excellent WiFi & reasonably spacious. Delightful. We liked the location, not overly touristy & great access to P.Roma the main transport spot to get anywhere. Highly recommend.

We chose the Palazzo Odoni because we were arriving late in Venice, and wanted something easily accessible. It was perfect for that -- just a short walk from the train station and the Piazzale Roma. The room was large and clean. It's a bit of a hike from there to the main sights of Venice.

My family and I stayed at the Palazzo Odoni this past weekend and found the place beautiful, well-situated, excellently priced, clean, and amazingly spacious! Our apartment (named for Titian) was two floors with a very large living room with windows that opened to the canal and a great dining area. The couches in the room converted into beds for my...

The apartments are amazing! Located in a quieter area, which was a welcome experience. You can be a tourist during the day and really relax at night. The service was great, and you get incredible value for your money. There is also a delicious and authentic Venice restaurant right next to the place - very convenient. The rooms are also...

Michele met us as promised when we arrived at Palazzo Odoni and was exceptionally helpful in explaining all that we needed. As we were travelling with a young child, a cot had been arranged and was all made up in the bedroom. This accommodation is typically Venetian and is very well placed with local shops and restaurants nearby. It is...

Had to return to Venice for a pleasure/business weekend, February 24th thru the 27th, and decided to, once again, stay at the Residence Palazzo Odoni. This time on my own, but not completely alone, with my adorable Chihuahua, Principessa, for company. We stayed in the Tiepolo Suite, which was easily large and comfortable enough for two to four people. So...

My wife and I stayed for a week at the end of February, beginning of March. The Residence is very well placed for those who are self catering, with bakery, grocers etc all within a few yards. The area is very quiet, and is very handy for Piazelle Roma and vaporettos. The only problem we had was a leaky plug...

My fiance and I stayed here in late October of 2011 and we are so happy we did! The location is walking distance from the train which is super convenient. It was easy to find and very private and safe. The room we stayed in had a real regal feel to it and I have to say it had a...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
