Venice have really good public transport and it's very cheap as well. I would recommend you to buy 2 or 3 days full day public transport ferry tickets which is very cheap compared to single tickets.
You can take a ferry to "Riva de Biasio DX" stop from the nearest ferry stop when you get down from bus. Use google maps to see the ferry routes from each stop.
