What an amazing hotel. I will recommend to anyone looking for a great 3 star hotel in Venice. 5 stars for a fantastic 3 star hotel. Incredibly friendly and helpful concierge, with fantastic excursion and restaurant recommendations. (One concierge in particular was extraordinary - Augustino I believe- recommended and amazing private gondola (named Kuba) for us to take one evening...

The location is great, only 5 mins walk from the station. The room is tidy and comfort. I am quite surprise even though the hotel is located busy area, I can't heard any noise in the night time. I can sleep very well in every night. The hotel front desk staff is very helpful and the hotel manager is nice...

The hotel is on the main street 5 minutes from the bus station + 2 minutes from the train station + the main vapporetto stop is straight opposite the train station so its in a brilliant location however you're arriving in venice, have stayed in this area a few times now for this reason, as you can get off the...

This hotel is close to the train station, a prime consideration if you are darting any baggage, the bridges in Venice are difficult to negotiate with heavy luggage... Unfortunately, there is no lift and no bellhop, so if that is an issue...I left my heavy bag at the front desk instead of carrying it to the 4th floor. The room...

The major advantage of this hotel is its location. It is literally a few steps from the railroad station, on the Main Street that crosses Venice. This is a big plus for travelers who carry their own luggage and do not want to traipse up and down bridges and narrow passageways AND not have to depend on the crowded vaporettos....

Well located: 5 minutes away from the Santa Lucia train station and short walk to one of the waterbus station. Free wifi, staff is professionnal and polite. Rooms are clean and the one I had had good space that is not the case in all hotels in Venice. I had a double bed that was more than OK. Only little...

The thing I liked about this hotel is that it's not expensive and my friend and I could rent a room quick because we arrived a little late to Venice. What I didn't like is that the room was very creepy, when we were going up to the 3rd floor we were a little put off the with how dark...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Spagna Hotel in Venice we had a lovely stay here thanks to Guliana and Augustino who made us very welcome after a horrible start to our trip. Originally we had a booking for another hotel and spent two hours locating it to find that the manager had cancelled our...

Overall exactly as described, but the front desk staff could be a bit off-putting if you are not used to the 'italian way.' I'd stay here again because it was a nice and clean hotel near the train station and easy to come and go from.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
