Very modern, beautiful lobby and tables on the water, great service, expensive drinks, ok breakfast, pretty good location (15 min walk to San Marco square), tiny rooms but huge patio and very nice, great bathroom.

We stayed here in Oct 12 as a present for my wife's 50th. Superb location, and contrary to what has been written on this site we found all the staff to be fantastic all of the time. We only ate in the restaurant for breakfast and again this was top-draw. If you stay, watch out for the sparkling wine available... More

We stayed here earlier this month and were very impressed with the hotel. it was very luxurious inside and the reception staff were friendly and helpful - the first night after we arrived quite late they gave us directions to a beautiful little square with a couple of traditional restaurants away from all the usual tourist spots which gave us... I found this six star hotel on the internet as its a former palace that more recently became a hotel. The exterior is old and historic, but the inside is modern. The location is great (Dorsoduro), across the Grand Canal from San Marco - the most famous location in Venice. Great views, easy access, helpful staff, very good restaurant, has... More

Stayed here for my husbands 40th. Great place, staff are amazing and will go that extra mile to make you feel special, rooms are great and in my opinion location is perfect. The only neg and that is only to put one in is that the bathrooms are small. But except for this, our stay was 100% perfect Strongly recommend... More

We stayed here for 4 nights towards the end of october, it is a lovely hotel, very contempory and not to everyones tastes! We had a private water taxi to the door which was the way to arrive and depart! We enjoyed breakfast but would not eat here as was very pricey, 24 euro for a sandwich, we are not... More

We arrived via private water taxi from the train station. 60 Euros, but well worth it! The exterior of the hotel was beautiful – exactly what I imagined of Venice. The hotel is in a great location! It is right on the Grand Canal and only a 15 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of San Marco square with... More

Nice hotel but for the price I expected to have wifi in all the bedroom, not just by the door and not to have to pay for it ( €3 per hour). The TV had about 90 channels but the only channel in English was BBC World News ( not BBC news) plus Blomberg or something similar which was equally... More

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience with the Centurion Palace. Our family of five reserved one Jr. Deluxe Suite (canal view) and one Jr. Superior suite for two nights at the Centurion Palace. Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
