Very Old Building and the worst bed foams. If you are very tight with money and would like to live in the Venice center you can choose this hostel. Otherwise you can find better hotels with better price at Venice Mestre which is 10 minutes train ride away from Venice city center and they are cleaner with comfort. The building... More

We had a twin room which was basic but perfect as a Venice base (shared shower rooms but we had our own sinks). As mentioned in other reviews, budget accommodation is quite rare in Venice and this place ticks the main boxes really well. Location was perfect in terms of walking from the Piazzale Roma and railway station - less... More

Located very centrally, it's one if the few places to sleep "on a budget" (42€ for a bed in a shared room) in central Venice. Overall a little noisy, you have to make bed by yourselves, shared bathrooms which were not so clean, nice common areas. For 1 night and if you want to escape Venice exorbitant prices but be... Located maybe 25 minutes from the main square, this hostel was very safe and offers amazing prices considering their location on the island. Very friendly staff always there for advice, help or to chat. Will go back whenever I visit Venezia again.

I LOVED THIS PLACE. I booked a single room here for 2 nights and it cost less than a shared (4 or 8 bed) room at most nearby hostels. The value is amazing (especially for Venice, which is generally pretty expensive). The good: 1. The room is basic but super clean, and you get fresh sheets from the front desk... More

This is a mix of all the disadvantages of a hotel, with the disadvantages of a hostel. There isn't much of a hostel experience lacking in cooking facilities and laundry facilities and the no alcohol policy. The rooms are basic dorms, large, but very noisy at night, due to being situated on the Main Street in and out of Venice.... More

I stayed there for 1 night and that was quite interesting because they work between 00:30 - 07:00 which means you can not entire between those hours. That was not trouble. People are so friendly there no worries. You will enjoy your stay.

Was alright for the price really considering the location, but the bed was hard, there was no air-con, and there were people outside my window talking loudly until the early hours so I barely slept during my stay here! The toilet is separate from the shower/sink room which is a pet hate of mine in hostels because it means everyone's... More

I booked 3 nights on a Single Room and was terrible, i thought that will be quiet but the Room 22 is right at side of a study room ( because this hostel is also a Students Residence) and until 1 am Lots of Girls laughing, absolutely no concern of the tranquility and even closing the doors gently, making a... Do not stay at this Hostel during the summer. There is no air conditioning or fans for your use, which is not disclosed until you arrive. The staff is less than helpful and quite rude upon asking them anything. Very difficult to find as well. There is a no alcohol policy and a curfew. The front door is locked from... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
