San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Loved the intimate yet private feel of the place. Quiet, yet close to activities at St Mark's and all the sightseeing we planned and achieved. Concierge was so helpful planning our return to Treviso airport and printed our boarding passes. Nothing was too much trouble. Yes we

Came to Venice for a long weekend and stayed in Dell’Opera - in a few words a really great place. In more words, well, the location is perfect just 5 min stroll from St Mark’s square. Hotel itself is fantastic, very cosy with a great atmosphere from the moment you enter. Staff

Dank, dark, gritty floors, and a single light bulb to throw a sickly light over it all. This is best Express travel agent's revenge. We disliked the hotel so much that we ate three pre-paid nights and moved after one. Glad we did. Students traveling on a budget might go for this

What time is breakfast at this hotel
I can’t remember the exact times for breakfast, but they were reasonable for us. We’re not necessarily earlybirds, but we don’t sleep till noon either. The breakfast was a bit later on weekends. You’re probably best to check their website or, better yet, contact them directly. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

That didn't apply to the room i was in, but there is a trend in hotels to have somewhat less than wholly private bathrooms, so might be that - ie from the bedroom you might see more of who is in the shower than you'd wish! But email the hotel - they will explain I'm sure. If you say you are travelling with others, as you say. they might either reassure you about the privacy of the facilities or change the room.

Is there a place to change money there or nearby? As we may not have time in airport.
Yes there is a “Unicredit” around 8 mins away from the hotel and there is an ATM there.

San Marco is probably the best stop as both the Vaporettos and the water bus from the airport stop here. It is a fairly short walk to the hotel, but there are at least two bridges (with steps); one of which is outside the hotel itself.
