Positives: We were so happy with the hotel and our room. In a city this wet things can easily feel humid, but that was never a problem here. It was dry, smelled nice, and was cool and perfect to chill in after walking around all day. It felt clean and relaxing and the bathroom was great. The receptionist was really...

This is a really nice hotel, with rooms all decorated differently in living colors, rooms are clean and cosy, breakfast is good, coffee excellent, and also the staff is excellent and really friendly. We liked our stay again. However, prices are pretty high during carnival times!

My wife and I spent 3 nights here. The staff were excellent. From check in to check out they were so helpful and friendly.4* hotel with 5* staff. Bedroom was excellent with a superking bed. Breakfast was great. Good location, but download a map to find the hotel as it is on a side street off the grand canal... Venice...

We were very pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the washroom. The location was great and navigating was fairly easy. We asked for advice for both our dinners, and the result, fantastic. A very helpful front desk for requests, navigating, and answering any of our questions. If we go back to Venice this would be our first...

Getting to this hotel from the train station is about as easy as it can get in Venice. And if you need help with your bags, the front desk can call a porter for you (5 Euro a bag and worth it). Nicola at the front desk was amazingly helpful. I emailed ahead of time to extend my stay by...

My wife and I had a very hard time trying to find a hotel in Venice that wasn't ridiculously over priced. We found this elegant hotel located in one of the oldest parts of Venice away from the maddening crowds. It's been very well renovated, not my idea of decor but very nice nonetheless. Probably what you expect in a...

Great location close to the train station and not too far a walk from sights. Front desk staff was very helpful and always available. Rooms were clean and rather large compared to other European hotels. Breakfast was included and satisfactory. Only negative is that Wi-Fi is only available in the common area, does not work in the room.

Great location nice and easy to find from the train station. Room on ground floor was nice and big, the bed was so comfy after a long day of walking. Shame about Wifi not in the room but not the end of the world, nice not to be checking emails and Facebook all the time as its a holiday. Got...

The hotel is very nice and you can't tell how nice it is by judging from the outside as all the Venetian facades are legally preserved as original facades, but the interior is very modern and you notice it has suffered a huge renovation to put it to high standards (marble everywhere). Nice breakfast with eggs which is not common....

Spent a weekend at Ca Zusto July 2016, good staff and nicely appointed rooms. The hotel is difficult to find (as is everywhere in Venice) because there is little on the street to identify it as a consequence of planning laws. We walked past it more than once before finding the entrance. I advise you look at and print a...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Ca Zusto Venice is an ancient patrician palace of the fourteenth century in a noble and sophisticated style just a few steps from the Grand Canal. Thanks to the skilful conservative renovation, the building has been restored to its former glory, when Venice was a crossroads between East and West. The result is a boutique hotel, unique and innovative from all points of view: from the comfort of which it disposes to the design of the interiors which reaches its highest expression in the only 22 rooms of the hotel. Each one of them is exclusive and unique. High tech equipments integrate themselves within ancient and aristocratic spaces, creating strong contrasts, the true expressive sign of the whole building. Curtains and brocades, precious bedspreads and the ceilings with ancient beams stand out of different tones of color. Everyone clearly feels the inspiration from Byzantine atmospheres. The service is 4 stars, with great attention to each detail and thought to satisfy every desire, in the name of the Italian hospitality. The Hotel Ca Zusto Venice is a little jewel to be lived and discovered in the historic heart of Vernice. From the "Basilica della Salute" on the Grand Canal to the small canals all around the "Teatro La Fenice" or between Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, a traditional gondola tour is ideal to appreciate some of the most beautiful settings of Venice. ... more   less
