I remembered my delightful surprise when I stepped into the B&B in the beautiful historic building and was surprised by the gorgeous room with fresco ceiling and vintage furniture that added character to the room without sacrificing modern comfort including new bathrooms, lightning wifi, and one of the most comfortable beds I have been. It was a home away from home! However, the friendly host Marco was key that made this stay more homely. My amazing stay at this B&B started even before I landed in Italy when he emailed me to arrange when I could drop my luggage. Marco has been accommodating to my requests and made sure that I was at home at his place. I was very happy to have the privilege to stay at his place and meet him, and I believe you too will find a home here at Marco's place.…
This lovely place to stay is very conveniently located, and Marco couldn't have been friendlier. I stayed in the single bed room surrounded by art and books and a lovely window with a wee balcony. There's a great history to the place and its decor is gorgeous. Bathrooms are super modern, breakfasts were most pleasant and tasty.
We were looking for a single night in Turin after the airport and before meeting our friends on Tuesday. We took a chance on Al Porta Susa and Boy! are we glad we did. Easy to find. Simple Check In with Lena who is adorable. Great location. All of Turin within walking distance. Clean. Great Shower (new). Met Marco the owner that evening. He's the definition of charm. From a Torinese family, he know the city and epitomizes hospitality. Great stay.
I stayed in the single room at Marco and Ilario’s cosy apartment B&B. It was relaxed and friendly and my room was lined with books in English and Italian. The bed was comfortable and the shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Marco allowed me to use the kitchen to make tea (I brought my own tea bags), and breakfast was casual and typically Italian (coffee, cakes, juice, bread and biscuits). The hotel is just a few meters from Porta Susa train station and a short walk (10 mins) to the main sites. I would certainly stay here again.
This B&B is ideally located for Porta Susa train station. It is a very elegant apartment with a very pleasant host. It was very clean and tidy and amazingly cheap. The shared bathrooms were immaculate. Highly recommended.
The host is very friendly and helpful, it was almost like staying at a friends place. The B&B is located in a cozy apartment close to the Porta Susa train station. You can hear sound from other people in the house, but that is what you would expect from an old building. Would highly recommend. If we come back to Turin, we will stay here again.
They have very nice rooms. You can get lost between in the diffrent kind of collections such as books ,artworks and some kind of shot glasses. They are very kind and cheerful guys. They are runing a family bussines and they are living next door. They have everything in the kitchen/bathroom. The place looks like from Agatha Cristie's books. :-)))).
I stayed for one night in a single room, it had a comfortable bed, a small balcony and shelves full of books. The b & b is in an apartment block very convenient for Porta Susa railway station, just a short walk away.
Marco is an host who pays real attention to all his guests. He runs a nice and wide flat which is a pleasant place to stay. From there, it's very easy and convenient to visit the city. Hilario is an excellent cooker. Don't miss his creations !
A charming second floor apartment owned by Marco who has three guest rooms available for B & B. He lives in a separate section of the apartment. It just oozes character – make sure you take a look at the ceiling in the breakfast room - and I was so glad that I stayed there instead of a sterile hotel. A five minute walk (easily found) from the Porta Susa train station and a 25 minute walk from Piazza Castello, which I would consider the city centre area of Turin. I considered the street to be quite safe at night. It is very clean and comfortable. My bedroom was spacious, the bed firm, which I like, and for the first time in many years, a pillow that I found comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, there will be traffic noise in the early morning and there was a creaking floor in the apartment above me. The three guest rooms share two bathrooms – Marco was not willing to comprise the architecture of the apartment to make the guest rooms en-suite, and rightly so – and therefore if you do not like sharing a bathroom, then Al Porta Susa might not suit you. If you have time for relaxing, there is a very comfortable sitting room with a huge selection of CDs and DVDs which you are very welcome to use – and a piano if you want to play it. Also, there is a selection of books. Have a look at Marco’s collection of shot glasses from around the world. Marco, who was very friendly and very willing to chat, was very accommodating with my check in time, which was outside his normal hours and likewise with breakfast which I required a bit earlier than the official start time. While check out is 11.00AM, he will hold your for collection later on. I asked Marco for restaurant recommendations and he suggested the one on the ground floor of the building, to the immediate right of his entrance door, where he has eaten himself, and it was ideal. Nice food at a very reasonable price – I had a pizza, half litre of house wine and a dessert - €12 – you can’t go wrong! If I ever return to Turin, this is where I would stay. For me, it is just the sort of place that I like, it was perfect.…
