There is no denying that Aracaoeli is an eccentric hotel, but eccentric like your very favourite aunt or uncle ... in fact the man who presides over the wonderful buffet breakfast would be welcome in our home any time! The hotel could not be more central ... our room, Sconsolata, had a balcony view which took parts of the village,...

We arrived in the pouring rain, and from the train station it was impossible to work out how to get to the main square, and no taxis. Dragging bags on roads with no footpaths in the rain was not the best start, but we got there! We were rewarded with our room being upgraded to a one bedroom apartment due...

Good if somewhat spartan room overlooking the square and fantastic breakfast but beware that reception is in a small office a hundred yards or so away and you are unlikely to get much sleep between late night drinkers (good luck to them I say) and early morning deliveries, street cleaning, etc.

The reception of the hotel is placed in a building away from the hotel....... I arrived at 08:00 pm and I had to call to check in..... Following several call attempts the owner answered and in an extremely rude way told me I should have checked in in the other building.......... P.S. The access to the hotel is in the...

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and overall had a good experience. The pluses are that it is right in the centre of this beautiful town, the room was quirky but nice and the breakfast was excellent. The minuses were the loud sounds from the square late into the night, the difficulty getting there by car initially and the...

The hotel is definitely very good. I’ve stayed here 2 nights in the room called “Das Lied vom Sankt Nimmerleinstag”. + The thing I enjoyed most was the balcony. You can see part of the lake, a bit of the island and lots of old roofs of this charming town Orta San Giulio. + The ROOM is spacious, with a...

myself and a family member booked to stay at hotel aracoeli however there was a mixup with the room. now usually people would complain and cause a fuss not me i judge people on how they react to mistakes as mistakes happen. A lady named monica was first class she offered us an apartment that the owners had overlooking the...

My wife and I spent a lovely Easter Weekend at the Hotel Aracoeli. It is quite tricky to get to with luggage, as the street it is on is off-limits to most cars. If you can find a taxi at the station (Orta Miasino, cabs advertise by the phone booth right outside) you should be alright. The hotel doesn't have...

My wife and I stayed in this quite modern hotel in this beautiful part of Italy that oozes history. The owners have tried to make this hotel a little bit more interesting than your standard hotel room by installing some quirky features. The first of these that people will notice is that the hotel itself has no reception. The reception...

Let me preface this by saying we stayed here and had the place virtually to ourselves as it was off season, the town was really quiet. This place is absolutely magical,  we spent 2 nights here for 105 euro per night which included fantastic breakfast ,wifi and parking up in the streets above the town, you cannot park in Orta. The hotel...
