Could not get in our usual hotel so chose San Rocco and immediately loved the hotel, fantastic location, parking within this town is really handy, room very modern and clean with amazing island view. Staff superb and breakfast very good, did not eat there other than breakfast so can't comment on restaurant. But.. If you need wifi like I did,...

I could not find a listing for the restaurant on the San Rocco Hotel, so I am reviewing it here. Just left and it was our worst meal in Italy. The restaurant is quite pretentious and we were attracted to its menu. While the descriptions are sumptuous, the flavors were bland and uninteresting. The sommelier assured us of their excellent...

Stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding and had a very lovely stay. We were upgraded to a lake view room and I would really suggest that if you can that you should book that because it's so beautiful and peaceful. Waking up to the lake view is really something that you don't see everyday!(unless you live there:-) The...

This is a nice hotel in a stunning location overlooking Lake Orta and it's island. Howeve, we felt the complex was a bit big and probably had lost some of its charm. We stayed in a newish build at the rear of the hotel. The rooms, although meant to be representative of the former monastery on the site, were small...

We stayed here for a week. Overall the hotel is quaint and stylishly renovated; there are lifts, air con and a bar/ dining area. It is located at just 5 minutes' walk to the Piazza, with typically narrow Italian streets, restaurants and shops. The hotel is located beautifully and offers a lovely (partly floating) terrace near the waterfront, which is...

We expect a certain level of service at a four star hotel and are used to paying quite high rates for the right place. Our room was small, badly painted,no wardrobe, just a rail hanging from the ceiling, difficult to adjust air conditioning, no iron or other facilities. Breakfast included, normal continental breakfast, but were charged extra for two fried...

Stayed as a family (2 adults and 1 five-year old) in August. The location is amazing, right on the lake with a great deck and pool. Then just a short five minute walk into the little town for restaurants, shopping, etc. We stayed in a standard room that faced the rear of the property. Good size, comfortable but no view....

Excellent hotel. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, everyone at every level from front of house and reception to waiting and bar staff at breakfast and dinner to cleaning staff were all helpful, friendly and efficient with a ready smile. The food was delicious, we stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast and all meals were beautifully presented and...

We had high, but realistic, expectations, especially given the price. Staff were friendly in the main, but the property just does not function as it should. The room was too close to being a monastic cell - amenities etc quite inadequate.
