Breakfast was good - coffee, pastry, cheese, eggs and sausages, yogurt, cereals, etc. I had a room with a balcony and there was coffee and coffee and tea making facility and mineral water...

Hotel is nicely located in the old part of town near Doumo. On a quiet one lane wide alley way with light traffic and little night time activity. We were on the first floor in the front and only had an occasional car or motorcycle. It is close to the mainstreet with the street car, subway, and train station for...

I visit Milan to see operas at Teatro alla Scala, in recent time, once a year. And at each visit, I stayed at this hotel. It is situated right behind the opera house...there is no more ideal location than that! Hotel personnel are friendly and helpful. I stayed in both Superior and basic ones, are clean and equipped with fridge,...

Hotel Star is in an excellent location being very close to the major attractions around the Duomo, La Scala, Sforza Castle and the Brera. There are lots of restaurants within a short walk. Breafast is very good and the staff there provide exceptional service and helped us with recommendations for restaurants and with locating car parking close by. Our room...

The hotel is nice, very clean with unusual pictures. Staff are lovely, speak excellent English and a great breakfast. The location is outstanding, you can walk to all the major landmarks in minutes. We didn't need to get the Metro anywhere. The only drawback is our room (at the front) was quite noisy, mainly from passing trams but on Friday...

Came to Milan to explore and see Le nozze de Figaro at La Scala. Great location, nice little room. Quite comfortable. But if you don't like the sounds of the city, find another place. Don't stay at a place in the heart of the city and give it a bad rating because it is in the heart of the city....

This was our second time staying at the Hotel Star. We had originally selected it for its close proximity to La Scala. We squeezed in two visits to the opera, a day trip to Lake Como and touring the sites in Milano on our first trip. We knew then that we would return on a future visit as we fell...

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
