This hotel is located just a few minutes walk to the beautiful Duomo, the Galleria, La Scala, shops and restaurants. Hotel is in some need of updating but our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was okay and the food in the hotel's restaurant was very good though a bit pricey! The staff was very, very helpful and friendly.... More

Located in the middle of milan, it is a fine choice to use as a base to explore the city. Good prices, friendly staff. The building itself though is kinda delapidated. Dont recommend staying in the room for long. All in all, visit this hotel if you are looking for a good choice to explore the city from.

Although rooms were good size- they were old and smelled of cigarettes. The bathroom was Very old- chipped counters- with some sort of 1960 machine on the wall that was supposed to represent a blow dryer. This was ridiculous - a waft of warm air came from a long HOSE that did not have enough power to dry a small... More

I stayed one night as an extension of my business trip and was impressed by the service, the room and the location - specially the location. I picked the hotel based on price - I got a very good rate of 110 Euros a night. I didn't have the breakfast, choosing to sleep in instead. The bed was comfortable if... More

Perfectly located near the Duomo including major shopping stores, a variety of restaurants and many metro stations. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special really. The hotel interior and furniture is very classic and outdated, so much that there are random buttons on the wall not sure for what. We got a very spacious corner room.... More

I stayed in the Hotel Galileo for 6 nights, with 3 friends. ( Two of the friends were there for only 4 nights). I asked for a quiet room, and got 608, which was a corner and as such had a particularly large bathroom, with two sinks. The room was comfortable, but a bit crowded. The mattress was very firm,... The hotel is located centrally, walking distance to the Duomo Cathedral, Restaurants and High end shopping. Darry the bellman helped us arrange transportation to the airport on a minimal cost. He told us to get a taxi for 15 Euros to the Centralle Statione where there are buses that would take you to the Malpenza airport for 8 Euros per... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
