The Grand Hotel Verdi was wonderful! Don’t judge the outside or carpet. July 15 & 16 By far the best breakfast in all our Italy travels! The beds and rooms were big and spacious. Baths were excellent as well. Good mini bar in rooms. The location is close to subway and train station is a easy walk with luggage. Luca,...

The Grand Verdi Hotel is located right in the business area of Milan and was within walking distance of the central railway station. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the hotel - you could also take the metro from the station. The metro stop is about two blocks from the hotel. The room was excellent - it...

Stayed here in May 2006. Had a “double for single use” room on the 1st floor for a week’s business trip at the GHV and first impression was “this is nearly bigger than my London flat!” Very spacious indeed, writing desk, sofa, mini bar area, safe, walk-in wardrobe/closet, usual complimentary stuff including slippers, powerful shower, large bath tub, decent enough...

We recently returned from a three week vacation in Italy. We used Trip Advisor exclusively in Santa Margherita, Rome, Venice, Bellagio and Milan. Each of the hotels were wonderful and were exactly as the readers' described. We had also decided to use trains and no rental cars. We came into Milan Centrale (the railroad station) from Varenna and the cab...

Hotel is a keeper. The largest rooms of any hotel I have stayed in Italy. Many extras in the Executive rooms. The extra bed for our daughter was a sleeper from the sofa. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Other meals were just ok. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Repubblica Metro station....

We stayed in the Grand Hotel Verdi for my sisters 40th birthday and had a great time. We chose this hotel because of the great reviews we read on this site and everything they said was true. This hotel is close to all the train, tram and metro stations so it is easy to get around. The best thing is...

After suffering through several tiny beds and bedrooms throughout Italy, we were so happy to walk into our spacious room at the GHV. Real big double beds and not cots! Lots of pillows! A sofa, mini-bar, walk-in closet, safe, CNN, slippers, and a bath/shower with a SHOWER CURTAIN and not those crazy, ineffectual glass screens you get in Europe. We...

Stayed here for two nights in May 06. Good location, 10 minutes walk from a Metro Station and only a couple of stops from all the main attractions. Close to lots of bars and restaruants around Corso Como. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They gave us the name a great pizza restaurant the first night. Breakfast buffet...

My husband had booked a romantic weekend away for us both(without the children!) all by himself! It's the first time he's ever taken charge so I was a bit apprehensive about what kind of hotel we'd end up in! The result? - A beautiful hotel with wonderful staff, (they didn't even mind when I persistantly tried out my Italian on...

Stayed at the Hotel Grande Verdi in May ‘06 for 4 nights. Pleasant courteous staff accessible location for the sights and shopping. Large bedroom with writing desk, four seater table, 2 seater settee, safe ,mini bar and large king size bed BUT……. awful uncomfortable pillows. Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
