Just returned from 12 days in Europe and I must report we were very disappointed with Grand Hotel Verdi, Milan. The Frankfort, Torino, and Cinque Terre hotels were great but, The Grand Hotel Verdi in Milan was terrible. We had three nights there and not one night was comfortable due to the air conditioner not working and strong cigarrette smoke...

I shared a triple with my mom and brother here at this great hotel at the tail end of a 2 week tour throughout Italy. We had 4 star hotels at each of our stays in Rome, Florence, Venice, and Lake Como and I have to say, this was our favorite (especially at its incredibly low low low price when...

I have just returned from a weekend (2 nights) at Grand Hotel Verdi and had a wonderful time. I shared a triple room with 2 friends and it was perfect for our needs. The rooms are large, and very clean, and the 3rd bed (sofa bed) was perfectly comfortable. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel bar, in fact...

We also choose due to the encouraging reviews and even more so because it was a good hotel for a decent price for Milan standards. It truly isn't too far away from the center (20-25 minutes to the Dome). We stayed in the suite which was HUGE and everything met our expectations. Breakfast good by Italian standards, staff friendly. Valet...

My husband and I stayed in the Grand Hotel Verdi during early March for 3 nights. I had booked the hotel based on reviews on this site and wasn't disappointed! The hotel is a 20 minute (brisk!) walk into the centre which is really easy to find from the hotel - basically one straight road. Although it is located just...

My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at the Grand Hotel Verdi over the Easter weekend and both enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Although the hotel is not the most attractive from the outside, the lobby is bright and clean, if a little twee, and most importantly the staff are extremely friendly and more than happy to help with luggage,...

Stayed here for 3 nights in early March 2007 and had absolutely no problems. Good location, nice hotel, helpful, pleasant staff. Much better than others we've stayed in in other Italian cities. Overall i'd definitely recommend it.

My wife and I booked this hotel as part of a flight/hotel package, so the actual cost of the room alone, is unknown. However, the price I paid for both was (IMHO) very reasonable indeed, £230 per person for a scheduled B.A. flight from Heathrow and three nights at the Grand Hotel Verdi. The hotel is within walking distance of...

I booked this hotel for a party of 11 (hen weekend!) as a result of the reviews posted on this site and was not disappointed. Getting there: we found flights on sale with jet2.com for about £60 per person. For that price we couldn't complain about the fact we flew into Bergamo airport, rather than the one nearer to the...

I booked this hotel as a surprise short-break for my husbands birthday & we were not disappointed in any way, the reviews on the site were completely accurate. The hotel is well decorated / furnished (theatre themed) & is a nice 25 minute walk to the cathedral, passing through the Brera area of Milan (north of the cathedral) - don't...

Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
