The hotels where I usually stay when on business in Milan being full due to fashion week, I tried Hotel Carrobbio. I arrived late at night and the staff showed me to the room. Good thing it was too as the corridors were dark, long and circuitous and I would probably have gotten lost otherwise. I used WIFI in the...

a nice, comfortable hotel. No excess luxuries but all that you would want during a short stay. Room was well kept and service friendly. Perfect location next to historic center of Milan, 10 mins.walk to the Duomo and all the sights at walking distance. Cold buffet breakfast was ok, but is missing salty bits (only cheese, all the rest was...

We stayed four nights at the Hotel Carrobbio in MIlan in July 2010. The hotel is OK, but do not expect it to fulfil any four-star requirements ! The staff is friendly, except two of the guys in reception, who really have an attitude problem ! They are not directly rude, but let you know that nothing you ask for...

We found the Corrobbio hotel to be in a great location, easy walking distance to some fantastic sights. The hotel is comfortable and clean, but very worn. The lift was unreliable, airconditioning didn't work properly and our room was musty. It doesn't feel like a 4 star hotel which is what it is rated, although we havent stayed anywhere else...

Some would say location is everything - and Carrobbio has that. Located at the junction of three major tram lines, it's easy to get every in Milan - and quickly. The street it's on is one of the oldest in Milan, so just walking in the neighborhood north of the hotel brings you to incredible sights of Roman ruins, if...

Firstly, I must say that the reveiwer of 18/05/2010 must have stayed at a different Carrobbio. We stayed for four nights from the 3rd June and could not have picked a better hotel. We had a double room (on the fourth floor), with balcony overlooking via Medici. The room was not cramped at all, tastefuly decorated and well furnished. The...

We stayed in this hotel as part of a European Trip , what a dissapointment. The staff were not helpfull and it seemed like everything was an inconvienience. The room we had was small and had not been decorated since the 70's , looked like somthing off a very dodgy film! The bar was extremely expensive , 10e for a...

The hotel is very clean, elegant and quiet. Indeed the single room is small but has its own spirit. I had small balcony with a chair to have rest after the tiring day in the city. The personnel was quite welcoming and nice. I have to mention that the bathroom was small but very clean and well equipped. The temperature...

Everything is a bit slow as it is in Italy. A couple of minutes is not exactly that. This hotel is quite small, and only 10 minutes walk from Duomo but rooms facing towards extremely narrow street called Via Medici makes it quiet. We were in 4th floor and there is an elevator. Breakfast buffet is plenty enough although it's...

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
