This hotel was a huge disappointment. It's in a great location in the heart of Como, and looks out onto a cute little plaza. However, I have never slept on such a horrible bed in my life. Honestly, sleeping on the floor would have been more comfortable. Fire alarm went off at 5am (there was no fire). The hotel over...

Four of us stayed two nights at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. As the hotel is situated one street back from the main road it is very quiet. The rooms are small but are clean and the linen and towels are of good quality. The breakfast which is included in the price is good. It...

This hotel is very centrally located, about 3 minutes walk from the lake. Outside the hotel are numerous restaurants in the Piazza. The proprietor and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. All the rooms are smallish, but very functional and adequate. Breakfast is good by comparrison to other Italian hotels.

I stayed here one night after two nights at the Hotel Barchetta Excelsior. The room was at the back of the property and was so lovely and peaceful. comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning as it was really hot that day. Everything worked well in the bathroom. It is not where you'd want to spend a honeymoon, but everything was clean...

A small, friendly hotel in the centre of Como. Overlooking the piazza with 5 cafes just outside the entrance. Continental breakfast was incuded in the price. Surprisingly quiet given the location. Within walking distance of all tourist attractions, ferries and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms small but comfortable. Excellent value for money.

My family stayed here in October - my parents in a standard room, my sister and I in the superior. For those of you who prefer a little more room, pay that slight bit extra for the superior room. Was well worth the money. Room was big, space to walk around (unlike some hotels in Italy), had a mini bar...

We stayed here on a hot Oct night. The air conditioning was only working on HOT cycle. Seems it was centrally controlled. We were told it was "law" to have the air con on heat rather than cool. Sounds like rubbish to me. We ended up having to leave the windows open (getting all the street noise) and and the...

Stayed early Oct 2010. Disappointed that air conditioning had been centrally disabled by the hotel. This wad despite the hotel advertising that room had air conditioning & despite the temperature in mid 20's (Celsius). Hotel staff said aircon is turned off from mid Sept. The lack of aircon meant windows had to be left open & lots of NOISE came...

I initially booked this on the basisi of its position and really this was the only thing going for it. Checking in was done in a very cold manner, no welcome, no smiling face just a very personality free gentleman who gave us our room key and TV controller. The room was quite small and had no character whatsoever. The...

At 60 euro for a single room in high season (this was a special rate, reduced from 85 for people attending an event) I wasn't expecting luxury. And my room was certainly comfortable, clean, with appealing decor and modern fittings. The buffet breakfast was quite extensive too (the delicious cakes were a nice touch, providing something for later ; )...
