We booked a room at this hotel based on the nice pictures and reviews. Thus I feel compelled to write a review that is more truthful to Hotel Hamacas' present state.
The room that we got is swarming with small bugs, mostly dead, some alive....More

I'm not sure where the bus station was since we had a rental car and did not take the bus or a taxi. I do know that in Nicaragua there are no standardized taxi rates (also there are no meters), so you usually have to ask the driver how much it will cost to get to wherever you need to go and they will give you an estimate. A fair rate is about 28-56 cordobas (1 - 2$ US) per person per mile. They will charge you more if you have luggage, etc. Hustling is how they make money in Nicaragua, so expect them to be aggressive in offering to drive you and also don't be pressured into using their services. Always ask exactly what is included in their price so that there are no surprises later.
Hope this helps.
