We have been travelling through central america for a month now and have seen our ups and downs when it comes to hotels/hostels. This is by far the worst! The cleaning staff literally took everything out of my backpack and STOLE $100 usd that i had hidden in one of the secret compartments. To make matters worse, the management did...

Firstly, if you can afford a GPS with your car rental, GOOD! There are no street signs in Nicaragua. Everyone "just knows" where to go. People will give you directions like: "Straight for 100 meters, then at the church go left 50 meters, next to the house with the red door." Don't be afraid to ask for directions. Now on...

A local recommended us staying here after we had missed the ferry. We kept trying to go into the wrong place as there is a sign with its name on the highway at a gate but we found out the entrance was actually around the corner, down the street. When you walk up the first thing that comes to mind...

Positive: Hammocks are really comfortable, grounds nice and staff friendly. Negative: Breakfast nothing special, rooms not good and quite noisy outside. Balance: None of the above actually matters because the real value of the place is location; it's just a 5 minutes walk to the ferry and if you go to San Jorge you're obviously heading to Ometepe, the star...

Hotel Hamacas is a stone's throw away from the ferry to Ometepe island. This made it convenient to recuperate at night and casually walk over to catch the ferry the next morning. They served typical Nicaraguan breakfast (gallo pinto, huevos, sandia, banano, pan, y cafe). The rooms come air conditioned. Beds were fine, but the room was dimly lit. However,...

Dirty bathrooms, sheets...worse than a horse house...to top it all of there's a dirty river delta near by so the beach is full of rubbish with a dark brown colour and a distinguished smell...dangerous for kids. We stayed for one night and had to leave the next day...bad expirience

Clean room, A/C, delicious breakfast and beautiful grounds. Staff were friendly and helpful, hammocks were perfect for relaxation. A perfect spot to rest overnight before taking the ferry to Ometepe!!

We travelled from Ometepe Island and walked to the hotel from the ferry. We were due to catch an early morning bus from Rivas (10 minutes away by taxi) to Costa Rica. Lovely clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Substantial cooked breakfast.

We only had breakfast here, as the hostel that we were staying at did not offer a very nice breakfast. The wifi was good and the breakfast a good price and tasty. We briefly looked at the accommodation and it looked comfy. The staff were really friendly.
