Very foetunate to have found this place in the midst of the high season. This lovely village offers an authentic immersion on the coast of the cinque terre only 20mn away by bus. The hosts have been fantastic especially Cristiano who has been very generous and human since there was an overbooking, they freed an entire apartment for the night. Cristiano have us good advice's and was full of attention. Very lucky to have found them and Great experience!

Really nice hostel near Cinque Terre. The staff, always helpful and polite, created plenty of space were people can meet and socialise, great atmosphere. Cristiano and Team go above and beyond to ensure all is sorted right away, extremely accommodating to any request. We’ll definitely recommend it and we’ll come back.

Had an amazing time and what a beautiful location! Just the exact perfect little break that we needed and as we visit Italy regularly it was nice to experience a whole new aspect of it. The owners made it so much more personable and we can't wait to go back!!

If you’re looking for a party hostel this is not it, but if you’re looking for a chill relaxed vibe to meet people—or just hang by yourself—it’s perfect!! Reception is very helpful especially in planning your days in Cinque Terre (it’s about 15 minutes out of Riomaggiore) including navigating their shuttles and the local bus. If you’re okay with being in a peaceful town just outside of the hustle and bustle, this is for you, if you want the convenience of being right in Cinque Terre, then it’s not. But the shuttles run regularly and the bus schedule is 100% accurate so it’s easy enough!

I wish I could have stayed here longer. I'd actually like to go back just to stay in Biassa again! It's in a beautiful spot in a little mountain town. We took the city bus to get there, then booked the hostel shuttle to get back and forth to Riomaggiore after that, which was super easy and cheap (and you don't have to push your way on the bus!). The guys at reception were very helpful, recommending restaurants, kayaking, and hikes for us. We took all of their suggestions and had a great time! We stayed in a private room which was right by the showers, and it was very quiet. We never heard other people. Never had issues waiting for showers or bathrooms either. The room was big with high ceilings and plenty of outlets to charge our things. There is no air conditioning, but it was much cooler there than Cinque Terre since it's in the mountains. The restaurant in the hostel is amazing! I wish we would have stayed there for dinners, but we ate two breakfasts there and we LOVED them. Great cappuccino, the avocado and egg toast was delicious and the chocolate banana pancakes were amazing. The view from the dining area is beautiful and the people are nice. If you stay here, make sure you visit the nearby pizzeria too! Delicious food and the view from the deck is great.

Response from ostellotramonti, Direttore at Ostello Tramonti
Responded 10 Oct 2019
While we appreciate your right to leave constructive feedback, what you have written and rated is both dishonest and unfair.. 1) first of all.. there are plenty of PowerPoints in the rooms and we have had extra ones put in near the beds.. If you wanted to keep your phone in your bed but it wouldn’t reach, you could have asked us for an extension lead and we would have happily obliged. In the common room there are about 20 powerpoints, not 2! 2) To say that the room was noisy next the road is completely untrue.. aside from the fact that there is absolutely no traffic, the rooms all have windows and shutters that you can close that block out any of the minimal remaining noise.. if you want to leave them open, we have earplugs.. As for the bells, the church is in the middle of the town, not next door to the hostel.. and yes the bell chimes - as they do in every single church / town in Italy.. These are just some of the traditions that make Italy Italy and should be embraced as part of the charm of visiting a part of the world that is different from what you are used to. Following your outburst and ridiculous comments about calling the police to make a ‘noise complaint’ about the church bells (which we can assure you they would have found just as amusing as we did), although humored, we obliged your request and moved you to a room on the other side of the hostel. 3) When the hostel was constructed by the state government, they did choose shower doors that were opaque (opaque being the most important word here as they are not see through - you can see the light but that is all!), to counteract this we have put extra screening material on the doors and almost all of the showers also have cubicle doors so whether you would be able to see a silhouette or not is completely irrelevant.. plus, we have plenty of showers so if feel uncomfortable with your body, you could have used one of the many that are in a completely private room. 4) Missed one? We assume that you are not even able to count 5) Our hostel is only open in summer and you stayed during a heatwave so when you did your washing, your clothes would have been dry in about 10 minutes so we aren’t sure what the problem was there? 6) We stand by our decision to close the restaurant due to unwell staff. We are sure, had you have become ill also , that you would have surely complained and of the two possibilities, not risking our guests becoming ill is a much better option for us. There are 2 other delicious and economical places to eat within about a 3 minute walk as well as 2 markets so there was no risk of you starving. In regards to the ‘random’ opening hours of our restaurant, 7.30 am till 10 am and 7.30 pm till 10 pm seem pretty standard to us.. 7) We supply every guest with clean sheets at check-in. Had you have had a genuine problem with the sheets, you really should have come to reception and we would have happily supplied you with a new set. 8) The earliest bus back from Cinque Terre is not 6pm - you can come back at 9.25 am or 2.25 pm or 4 pm if you want with the public bus and then our shuttle service operates from early until late evening which works perfectly for 99% of our guests. And no, our hostel is not in Cinque Terre - we are a short 10 minute shuttle ride from the first town and set in a beautiful ancient village in the mountains of the Cinque Terre National Park. A stunning, relaxing setting, which we are sure you appreciated AS YOU CHOSE TO SPEND 3 OF YOUR 4 days in Biassa and mainly in the hostel. 9) The tap water in Biassa is perfect for drinking and is some of the cleanest in Italy. Should you prefer bottled water, we also offer that at our restaurant. 10) We don’t have air con or fans in the rooms but being on a mountain, during the evenings, even on the warmest of days, there is a fresh breeze that comes through. Each room has windows and shutters to allow guests comfortably and safely enjoy the fresh air, without sleeping too warm. 10) We clearly state in our description that we do not have a kitchen for guests to use but we do have a food prep area, microwave oven, kettle and fridge. We have never had anyone say that there was not enough room in the fridge, including yourself, so we can only assume you found enough space for anything you may have needed to keep cold. 12) Yes, guests do need to make their own beds.. Aside from the fact that we are a hostel and that making your own bed in a hostel is standard practice, we do this also so that you see, very clearly, that you have fresh sheets! Thank you again for your feedback, although utterly unconstructive. Unfortunately, as is obviously the case with yourself, some people are impossible to please. Please remember next time you make a booking that the search term you are looking for is 5 Star Hotel, not hostel. Maybe then you will be satisfied with your stay. Or not.

I had a great time in ostello tramonti. It's in the beautiful village of biassa and it's very easy to get to Cinque Terre. The staff is always around to give you the best advice about the region. It's possible to have best of both worlds. The beauty of Cinque terre and the tranquility of biassa. The food is delicious. I felt home from the first moment. Thank you for the wonderful stay :)

It is just so beautiful here. Everyone is kind and helpful. Reception is just great - thank you so much for all the help, advice and your brotherly spirit Damian. The shuttle service helps so much and makes access easy... so just plan yourselves properly and book the day before. The restaurant is great. Try to tomato spaghetti and the bottle of white! The bathrooms and rooms are very clean. I would definitely want to come back to get some peace and quiet and be able to hike and socialize when I want. I've met some great people too! I've stayed in five star hotels but I've had a better experience here than any other place because of the warmth and depth of the people working here. It's not a party hostel so please respect the staff and the neighbours and fellow travellers. And a shout out to Andrea, the beautiful shuttle driver 😻

We enjoyed staying in Ostello Tramonti for 4 nights and would do again. The staff were helpful suggesting walks to do and Biassa itself is a nice quiet village. Having to get the shuttle bus was only a minor inconvenience and not a surprise at all given the ample information about it on their website. The hostel was a bit loud at night sometimes but this is to be expected. Breakfast (although not included) was delicious each morning and even if you are put off by the price you can still get breakfast in Riomaggiore instead. Would love to return to Cinque Terre at some point!

Cannot fault this place, and most importantly... the staff are so amazingly kind and go out of their way for you... they even took my friend to First Aid as a favour!Location was perfect because it was outside of the touristic towns (which is ideal especially in peak season) in a gorgeous little town and the hostel has a great view. Very convenient because the shuttle buses run often! And you simply have to eat in the restaurant, the food was absolutely gorgeous... very fresh and they clearly take pride in their home cooking (great prices too)! Extremely clean, comfy beds. I rarely leave trip advisor reviews but would recommend this place to anyone of any age... Thankyou so much for our stay! Ellie and Amina
