Hotel Balbi is a good B&B hotel with some interesting decor, high ceilings with fresco paintings. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Be warned - the hotel entrance is on the third floor - there is no lift and those stairs are no joke. If you have heavy bags you will find the stairs to be a real problem....

Very unusual hotel. Limited ammenities. Clean and our room was spacious, facing out onto the Main Street. The ceiling fresco was a delight. Position was ideal, being close to shops, restaurants and railway station.

Location is good enough 5 minutes from Railway Station and 10 minutes to Old port. No elevator and very long high stairs to the second floor to reception. Staff is very helpful and smiling. Breakfast is good for 2 star hotel. It includes even fresh made cappuccino and coffe. Clean room but outdated furniture. A Kettle in the room is...

Close to the station - and a warm welcome. A pity that there is no lift to this second-floor apartment hotel. But once we were in, everything was perfect. And our host laid on an early breakfast - thank you.

We spent one night here while in Genova. The place is easy to find, just a short sprint from the train station. The hotel is located on the second floor in an old charming building. No elevator however! Prompt and friendly staff. The room had high ceilings which made the otherwise plain interior feel quite charming. The best thing with...

Great hotel near the centre, just 10 mins walking. We went for the new year's eve,2 nights receiving a warm welcome. Very cheap, 25euro per person including a very nice breakfast. The room is nice and everything was good. If I have to say something wrong probably it is the bed,not so comfortable and it makes a creaky noise. A part...

We were a group of three friends, and hotel balbi was very nice and comfortable for us. Within walking distance to Genoas harbour and near the train&bus stations. Although Genoa doesn't have much to do at night time, our days were spent happily since we could reach Cinque Terre by bus within 30 minutes max. Would definitely recommend it!

Me and my friend stayed at the Family Hotel Balbi in Genoa. It was very good! Great service, great people, we enjoyed the sweet breakfast every morning. the rooms were very clean and cute. The hotel is like 5 minutes by walking from the Genova Principe Train Station, maybe even less than 5 minutes. There are couple of nice restaurants...

After reading some reviews after booking i was dreading staying but was very surprised. On arrival i was met by very pleasant people who where helpful in booking us a secure car park just around the corner. Further down the Via Balbi are the grand palazzo of the great merchant families of Genoa. This isn't one, although the breakfast room betrays the decorative scheme that would once have made this fancy. You get a great location; 5 mins from the station and a great setting off point for the old town or the harbour or those palazzos....
