Villa Bonera is an evocative place - a beautiful 500 yr old building, 5 mins walk from promenade and in the quiet "villagey" area of Nervi, Genoa. Staff very helpful - especially when I came down with flu! Their aid was much appreciated! And the breakfast is freshly cooked every day Very happy to stay there again

A unique former stately home, full of character, where we were made to feel very welcome. It provided an ideal stopover on our journey form Siena to Geneva. Bed & breakfast was good value for money and very comfortable. Family friendly and good car parking, but you have to drive carefully through the narrow gate from the main street. Decor...

Dear Gerry, there probably was a misunderstanding about the path from the hotel to the promenade, because it's never been closed. I take it as an advice to improve my english... Thanks a lot for this wonderful review, we hope to see you again in less than 50 years!

This year I had the pleasure to discover the Villa Bonera Hotel, a 16th Century Villa transformed in Hotel already in the late 19th Cent and which haven't lost its allure. Staying there is like going back in time, an old fashioned family run hotel, unpretentious, comfortable, where food ( all home made by the " mamma" and staff courtesy...

Finding an affordable hotel during winter school holidays was difficult, but we got lucky with Villa Bonera! The staff (it is family run - parents, son and daughter) are extremely friendly and helpful. We'd informed them that we had 2 vegans with us, so they made some very delicious vegan cakes and always made sure that there was always a...

I rate this hotel (Villa Bonera in GEnova Nervi) with 5 stars out of 5. Personel very sympathic and helpfull; they enjoy their job and there is an positive feeling/atmosphere in this beuatiful building (former palace of a noble familiy). Service perfect, clean rooms, good breakfast (italian/european style) with some homemade products (sweet pastries). Breakfast is served in the garden/...

Dear Sylvester, at the check-out you told me you were going to give us 5 stars, but I couldn't expect a spectacular review like this! It's much easier to enjoy your work when you meet nice and smiling people that you could have a chat with, and that's just your case. Thank you so much, we all hope to see...

Stumbled across this gem of a hotel it is a 16 th century villa which was the home of a prominent genovese family and is now a hotel . If you want perfect this is not it but if you want interesting this is definitely the place for you . I loved it and really enjoyed my stay , the...

I would not stay here again. There was an electrical short in our main light. Blew two light bulbs. We did not feel safe in the room. Staff would not move us. The hotel was very old and the actual hotel does not live up to the pictures shown.

The building has seen better days for sure, as it could be said for a lot of people; but no one is more than 500 years old and we think it looks younger than it is. We're sorry about the electrical short, usually when something like this happens we just change the bulb, not the entire room. Some of our...

Booked online and I couldn't bear staying so checked out at the cost of a night's accommodation. The management offered an alternative but the fact that they were prepared to offer this room at all didn't give me confidence. Room 1, a single room was one of several constructed along the edges of the balcony running around the building, I...

Dear Tim, usually when our guests are not satisfied with their room, we do our best to offer them another accomodation, so they can enjoy their stay here. Unfortunately, there was no chance with you. You had booked a room for two nights, and since you wanted to leave immediately we had to make you pay for the first night,...

We stayed here in August 2012. First impressions are quite good. It's a rambling, rather rundown old palazzo set in its own grounds just off the main street of the elegant suburb of Nervi. (Good public transport links to central Genova.) The central foyer is spectacular - from the ground floor you can look right up to the decorated ceiling....

I'm afraid to say that I've read some inaccuracies, probably due to the time that has past since your stay here... I can't say who's hiding behind this review, but I'm pretty sure that in August 2012 you wouldn't have found a double room at less than 73 euro per night (our price) in every 2 star hotel in Genova....

The building is superb, a 16th century villa that is probably essentially the same as when it was built. It is near to bus stops, the 17 for going to Brignole rail station or the 15 for the run along the coast to Genoa. The harbour and the start of the Passiagata Anita Garibaldi are a short stroll, around 200...
