Detailed Reviews
We stayed on the hotel for a week just this March.
it was a really good stay. the room was cozy and well maintained, with a clean bathroom complete with complementary toiletries. we loved the free buffet breakfast on our first days but if you're going to have the same food for a week you might want to look for a restaurant which are just nearby. wifi works just fine. i put emphasis to the friendly, attentive, and hospitable staff. They also know the whole city so you can ask them for directions or even suggestions if you want to go somewhere.

We stayed at this hotel in September and were pleasantly surprised how great the hotel was. Everything was really clean wonderful staff especially two young ladies who went out of their way to help us their names were Valentina and Sabrina. It was not far from the city center so we could walk to the Restaurant. They also had a safe place for the car. We would stay there again. Paul and Barb Meyers

We stayed in the Hotel for only one night during our motorcycle trip back from Italy to Poland in Sept 2011. It was a nice stay. The room was quiet with the windows on the back of the hotel. Nice and clean room, good bed, minibar and working air conditioning. After small negotiations it was a good price/quality relation. Our motorcycles were parked safely in the Hotel yard. The staff was helpful and caring. And finally the breakfast was tasty with a nice range of food to choose. The bottomline is we would definitely recommend the Hotel especially to motorcyclists as the owners belong also to the family :) and it's easy to find the common language :)
Well done :)

My girfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights while seeing the north of Italy. Udine is a lovely town but this hotel is located on the ring road right beside a busy roundabout.
The pictures make the hotel look quaint but the reality is that it is bang in the middle of a seedy industrial part of town facing a high rise block of flats and around the corner from a dodgy area of sex shops etc.
We usually aren't picky with cleanliness but the room was dingy and dank. There was a lot of noise from the road. A positive was that the room was dark at night with heavy shutters.
We asked the woman at the reception to order us a taxi because we were in a rush to get to a concert but she phoned her friend. We also wanted to sit in the garden area out the back and share some wine at night but were ushered in by the hotel owner. There was also supposed to be a restaurant but it didn't open once. When we asked at the reception where we could eat the guy just pointed over his shoulder (we never found anywhere as everything closes on a Monday in Udine - which you would think he'd know working for a hotel!) We also were due to have breakfast but when we went down they had nothing for us so they brought us a yogurt and stale bread that looked as if it had been sat out all night.
The hotel was absolutely dead with no other guests except ourselves (for the month of August this should tell you something). We felt like we were in The Shining.
The value for money was very poor. The hotel was far too expensive. We paid much less for a four star hotel in the centre of Verona.
Rant over!

stayed 1 night and the standard was misserable. The toilette and the shower was broken. Carpet, walls and furniture was in the same brown- grey "dirty" collor and the feeling and we strongly recommend you from staying at this hotel if you are on vacation.

Response from HotelsangiorgioUdine, Responsabile reception at Hotel San Giorgio
Responded 23 Jul 2012
Dear Guest, We definitely disagree about your review. The furniture and the walls of our hotel rooms are not in a brown-grey dirty colour, and the carpet is regularly not only vacuum cleaned, but also washed. If there were really the problems that you claimed, we don’t understand why not leaving the hotel immediately, once you checked in during the afternoon or why you didn’t expose the problems on the same evening. The only thing that you reported at the check out was about the moving toilet seat, which you asked a discount for and it was recognized by the direction. Despite your opinion about our hotel, for us it was a pleasure to have you our guest!! Yours faithfully…

We stopped here to sleep en route from Venice to Carinthia on a Wednesday night. The hotel was what you would expect for 3 stars - clean and functional but dowdy. Wifi and breakfast were provided free of charge. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately from 10pm - 12am there was a lot of noise in the corridors and adjacent room from rowdy italians. Rooms appeared to be rented by the hour. We got very frustrated and could not possibly sleep with the noise. Eventually we called reception and they were very apologetic and said they would seek a solution. After an hour or so it was quiet. The hotel staff apologized the next morning when we checked out. I would not stay here again due to this unfortunate experience which I suspect is a frequent problem.

Stayed here for several nights for work. Relatively cheap and close both to the station and city center. The room was cramped and boring but clean and well kept. The people was really friendly! And internet was fast (which definetly is not a given, even in finer hotels)! Breakfast was nice and if you forgot to pack something there is a big supermarket right behind the hotel.

It doesn't look new but the place is very well looked after. And you will be too. Udine was a stopover point for us, but we enjoyed our short stay here. The room we were in has been renovated. The breakfast was very good. There is a big Eurospar supermarket behind the hotel, and a coin laundry right next door. The restaurant diagonally across the road - Al Masaniello - has amazing seafood.
The train station is about 800 metres away on the same side of the same road. Relatively convenient.
