The view from the restaurant on the top floor is the real pearl of this hotel. Otherwise quite a disappointment for a 5 stars hotel. The rooms are run down, the service is surely not 5 stars (I.e. Breakfast is served from 7, but I arrived at 7:30 and the tables on the terrace were not prepared yet and had...

I stayed at the Greif plenty of times, because of its location and of the fact that it used to offer the longest hotel swimming pool in Trieste. The Greif prides itself with 5 stars. Well: one should be aware that it is way far from deserving five, and even four stars. Maybe it was at its golden age some...

We decided to revisit the hotel we stayed at 12 years ago , lovely 5 star hotel near Barcola district of Trieste , this area has a lovely promenade which runs along the sea . One wonder is the families sun bathing from early day to late evening definately an older generation holiday area , but now seeing many of...

I have been there 2 nights, business reason. Hotel ok on the outside, parking is convenient, on the promenade. Slightly outside the city center. Inside everything is decades old. Apart from the kindness of the staff, the hotel falls well short of its 5 stars. It is a still disappointing, aged 4 stars hotel. Old furniture, bed sheets with a...

This is a favorite spot of ours for family reunions. In the summer the terrace is great and commands a superb view over the little harbour of Barcola. In winter the dining room is pleasant and never crowded. The service excellent the whole year round. The food is good: we normally have fish and shellfish. The desserts are also first...

We booked in advance and arrived at seven pm, the room was not ready and we had to wait 20 min to access the room. It was clean then but smelled so much of cleaning products that we had to open the eindows to breath. Room is not too bad, but very old. Old style but also old age. Refurbishment...

This is a classic style hotel in the Barcola area of Trieste. It cost 90€/night for 2 nights, and I think it was well worth the price. I wouldn't say that it's 5-stars, but perhaps 4. The breakfast was great, not like anything I've ever had in a Mediterranean hotel before, and the view over the bay from the breakfast...

“I was in room 209 with view towards the back yard and mountains. I had asked for this via e-mail because I had read here that the traffic can be loud on the other side of the building, and it might have helped, though I didn't get an answer. The room was spacious, clean and calm. I felt a bit could so I turned up the heat and it worked quickly. The double bed was really comfortable. I did hear the traffic from the big road on the other side of the building, but it didn't bother me. Hearing the people next door might be a problem though if you value your intimacy.”
