Not glamorous, and 20 minutes walk from the centre of town, but good value in an expensive town, clean and comfortable.

Donatello isn't fashionable by any standard - the whole interior feels to have been the same from 70s/early 80s - but apart from that, the hotel provides a completely ok stay at a very affordable price. The location is good, it takes about 10 mins by walking to the city centre and the staff is friendly as well. So I...

Although this hotel had all the amenities of a 3* hotel it looked like it had not been decorated for 100 years! The rooms smelled of smoke and was above a possibly disused mens club. Having said this, the price was very cheap and for one night it was ok, although if we had planned to stay for any longer...

I have travelled to quite a few places in my time but, the first time that the people in charge of the hotel acted like friends and could not do more for you. 2k.m. from centre of town but bus stop near-by and just 1euro into town. Bar/cafe just up the road called Big Ben, made you most welcome and...

We needed accommodation for five nights whilst escorting our daughter to Modena to help settle her into her first week at University on an Erasmus exchange. We looked at lots of hotels in and around Modena and picked the hotel Donatello for its location, its sits quite near to the motorway taking you to the airports Parma or Bologna, and...

And so in Modena we actually stayed in a spot recommended by the staff at Residenza Navona First (a fabulous Roman B&B who really took care of us....check them out at www.residenzanavonafirst.com). They recommended it because one of the receptionists practically grew up there and we wanted a slice of real Italy without too many touristy frills, but some real...

I'll start with the positives then work my way downhill! The staff were lovely especially the lady at breakfast who couldn't do enough to helpand we could park our car for free in a secure underground car park, but..... the hotel needs a major update! The first room we got had 3 single beds in it and smelt so musty...

We've stayed at Donatello hotel for a couple of weeks now and are very happy with the service and hotel personnel. City center is just a 10 minute walk, restaurants are nearby. Swift connection to the tangentiale also. When you visit Modena for business or leisure and you're looking for a good price/quality hotel, then don't forget to checkout Donatello.
