My boyfriend and I stayed at this B & B during a 3-night stay in Bologna (a lovely, underrated city, by the way.) What a great find! It's located on the 2nd floor of an apartment building in the heart of the city (easy walking distance to all the major sites.) We loved staying in an apt. building as opposed...

This is the must stay place in bologna! A small (4 room) B&b in a great location (4 mins walk from 2 towers). The rooms are lovely, clean, big, efficient aircon and private bathrooms. The service is great, we got a map and a full run down of the best attractions, a few good restaurants, gelaterias and supermarkets. Plus the...

We stayed at Casa Ilaria for 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we do not usually stay in B&Bs so were not sure what to expect but it could not have been better. We were immediately given great tips for eating out, the best place for ice cream and all the sights to visit, our host could not have...

Just going through the front door, opposite the opera house (!) admits you to a different world - cool, dark, mysterious. Up the stairs (is the lift being installed or dismantled??) to another door and into a large, airy appartment. Our bedroom was up another flight of stairs (it does encourage you to pack light!) and was comfortable and cosy,...

I'm usually not a fan of B&B's but this was one of, if not the best stay I've had in Italy so far. When we arrived in Bologna we were met by one of the owners who showed us our room and told us about attractions and restaurants in the area. The room was very nice, a lot bigger then...

We booked Casa Ilaria for April but the volcano cancelled our flight. We rescheduled for Sept-confirmed 5 months in advance. When we showed up we were told "they were sorry but you do not have a room". There was some "problem". While we sat in the living room we watched aghast as they searched the web for a room. While...

Casa Ilaria had such a pleasant, homy and overall oldspirit immpression that we started imagining how it would be to move and live that life. I could almost sense the history, but it offered all fully modern comfort. The location was more than great. Everything was so close and we used the private parking in the building courtyard for free....

Well, we had high hopes for Casa Ilaria. The web site sold it to us. Overall it was ok. Not great but not poor. Priced at 120 Euros a night, it seemed a fair price for the standard of accommodation but it certainly isn't worth any more. Breakfast is very basic. No fresh fruit or anything cooked. Toasted average quality...

Clean and centrally located. It was pleasant and comfortable, but we were hoping for something more customer-friendly. Ilaria didn't respond when we arrived although she was in the building and it took about 45 minutes and a phone call to get her to open the door. We thought because she runs a cooking school that breakfast would be something special,...

My husband and I stayed at Casa Ilaria just this month. First let me say that the property itself is wonderful. The location is great - it's right in the center of Bologna. It is, however, only about half a block from the university and one night as we were walking home from dinner there was some sort of demonstration...
