The two points are for the soap and related products in the bathroom and the cleaning lady who was not only great at her job but also very friendly and approachable. She should train frontline staff. Check in was inadequate- I had to ask for a map and description of how to get to the main square and attractions. When I asked about public transport I was dismissed really saying it costs less than €2 which was not my question. I have a walking stick and wanted to know which buses would get me back and how to use the service. When my travelling companion came back from catching up with a friend at about midnight who happened to be in Bologna he was confronted by the front desk with a shout: Room number? Not good evening sir can I have your room number please?? And then explain why - it was an embarrassment. The safe didn’t work properly I asked about it and waited for 20 minutes for someone to come - no one did. This hotel caters for conferences etc and I think they are far more interested in keeping corporate clients happy and not tourists. Look elsewhere is my advice.…
Walls in the room are shaking all the time. Loudly water in the tubes and loudly ventilation system outside (especially during night). Perfect breakfast and comfortable check-out time. Pleasant staff.
We were in Bologna for my husband's conference and LOVED Bologna!! First the positives about the hotel: the location was PERFECT. It's two blocks from the central train station. We walked everywhere and there were a million restaurants right around there. Second the bathrooms have clearly been remodeled and are very nice. Third, the price was very reasonable. Fourth, it was very quiet and clean. Housekeeping came in every day and made up the room. Also, there was a fridge in the room. The negatives: the rooms are very small. Maybe that's just the way European hotel rooms are, since this was our first trip to Europe, we don't really know. Our "king bed" was two beds pushed together and was not very comfortable. The staff was not friendly. We were there four nights and they never spoke to us as we came and went. The AC in the room didn't work very well. We had it as low as it would go and it never got really cold. If you're not going to be in your room much it's perfect!…
Stayed 2 nights in mid-May. A short, easy walk from the train station. Staff friendly and competent. English not a problem. A easy walk to the bus station and center of city, most major tourist attractions. Room was reasonable size by European standards, on the small side by American standards. 3 travelers, all adults- one queen and one double bed. Bathroom updated with rainfall shower head and nice tile. Breakfast included- hot scrambled eggs and bacon, wide variety of breads, croissants, fruit and cold meats available. A number of guests appeared to be business travelers and a few small groups. Would stay here again.
I stayed in this hotel for four nights. My daughter had sent me with a stuffed pillow to “keep me company” and on the first morning housekeeping took it away with the sheets. It was apparently sent to an off site laundry where it vanished into thin air. Every step of this situation was worse than the last, from the housekeeping staff unconcerned with whether or not there’s anything in the bed, to the laundry they use that apparently just throws away anything wrapped up in the linens, to the front desk staff who kept promising to call the laundry and then update me and kept forgetting. They told me when I left to leave my card and they’d get in touch, which they didn’t. I finally got ahold of them three weeks later and it never turned up (I assume, as they responded with a picture of the wrong item and then never answered another email). One star for housekeeping that should know better, indifferent hotel desk staff and management, and using a laundry that apparently doesn’t know what to do with objects accidentally taken away with the sheets, something that has to happen EVERY DAY. (Not to mention the terrible environmentalism of washing the sheets every single day!)…
