We had a very nice experience. From the time we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff. They parked our car for us in their garage (20 Euro / night), they escorted us to our rooms and then brought us our luggage. Quite a few stairs throughout the hotel so this was nice. The room was very nice and...

Our contact with the hotel started pre-trip with helpful and prompt communication over leaving luggage early in the morning of our arrival. We were due to arrive in Bologna by train at 6a.m. In the event, the train was late so arrival was 8a.m. On arrival at the hotel, we were offered not just the opportunity to leave luggage but...

I've been going away for a long weekend with a group of friends each year for over 10 years now and this is one of the best (possibly even the best) hotels that we have stayed in for the price we paid. The service was amazing - friendly and efficient but also appropriately professional. The rooms worked well for us...

We stayed at this hotel for the first leg of our honeymoon and it was a delighful start to the holiday. The weather let us down but the warmth of the accomodation and helpfulness of the staff more than made up for it. Bologna was not what we expected (lots of graffiti, slightly tired looking despite the beautiful architecture and...

The hotel is tucked away on a side street at the edges of the historical centre. You can walk to it from the station in less than 30 mins. and all other parts of the historical centre in less. We were given a friendly welcome on arrival and showed to our room. Because the rooms are contained in a number...

Having researched places to stay in Bologna, it seems that Porta San Mamolo was just what we wanted: quiet, romantic, well placed and comfy. And that's just what we got. Despite Bologna being a fairly noisy & busy city, this hotel/B&B is in a quiet, traffic controlled section of the city. We stayed in the Jr Suite and had our...

Usually the hotel quality in Italy is very low with unacceptable price range, however Hotel Porto San Mamolo is an exception with its unique architectuaral environment, beautiful garden, comfortable rooms and high quality service. All through our stay we felt as if at home with the smile on their face and marvelous breakfast. I would like to thank to all...

Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, clean room, cheerful, pleasant place. It's a bit of a ways from the station but an easy walk up to the center of town.

Just a short walk from the city square Porta San Mamolo is the perfect place to stay in Bologna. I have been to this city many times and have grown very fond of Porta San Mamolo. The service is excellent, the rooms are beautiful and clean, and the courtyard adorable. I stayed here during business travels, but I would definitely...

While our first room had an inoperative air conditioner and the next 40minutes were reminiscent of a Marx Brothers movie - it was all downhill from there. The front desk staff showed me three alternatives, the breakfast and its setting was excellent. It was only a short walk to the sites. It was peacfull. A great choice.
