We stayed for a week at Hotel Centrale near Piazza del Populo in central Rome and were very happy with our stay at this wonderful small hotel, The hotel's location provided access to all manner of restaurants, coffee shops, tratterias, Pizza shops etc. This gem of a small hotel is very convenient to the historic center also with easy walks...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Centrale last May. We were actually more than satisfied with the amenities the hotel offered, mainly because we were expecting something less. A look at the pictures in the hotel's website gave us the impression that it is a very old hotel. In reality, it was a newly renovated small, homey, comfortable, accessible...

It was more expensive than others in walking distance and offered far less in service, breakfast. Although my room was larger than expected the double bed for which I was paying was only two single beds pushed together and covered by a double sheet. The divide was very noticeable so I still only had the use of a single. Breakfast...

Prior guest had smoked in the room we were staying in and it smelled horrible. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was small but seemed standard for European hotels. Freah towels were supplied everyday. Wifi was available which was a huge plus for us and easy to find off the Spanish steps metro stop. the breakfast was great...

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We had a double room with a shared terrace which was very clean and reasonably spacious. The terrace was a pleasant bonus. The location was very convenient and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the Spanish Steps and Metro station. Breakfast and free WiFi were included as well. The breakfast was simple but...

Just spent three nights here with my wife and 17 year old son and would find it difficult to call out any major issues with this hotel. It's perhaps a little expensive for a three star and the breakfast could have a bit more choice but other than that it was perfect for a short break in Rome. Location is...

A wonderful vacation and a nice enough hotel but we opt for the suite and to be honest for the money I expected more. There is no coffee in the room, which I think is typical but downstairs in the small dining room the coffee is shut down. The desk clerk offered us cappachino but failed to tell us there...

Close to a lot of the main attractions which was very nice. The room was very small with barely enough room to walk around. The bathroom and the shower were small and uncomfortable.

3 couples stayed there for our wedding anniversary. The rooms are small compared to american standards, however clean and quiet. We barely stayed in the rooms, since there was so much to see and do. Quite frankly, if you're portly, you will never fit into the bathroom. I'm 5'6" and my knees hit the wall on the commode. Great breakfast...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It is situated in a pedestrian area near Spanish Steps and Popolo Squares, which is extremely quiet and just few meters far from the big Villa Borghese parking. What makes the hotel unique among the others in the capital city is the building fascination; it is in fact a beautiful 1700 palace. Moreover, the hotel is one of the few that, being located in the centre of Rome, can offer advantage our rates. ... more   less
