After reading many reviews, I booked the Hotel Crosti for a 4 night stay in November 2008. Adriano at reception is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were very stark, having no pictures or mirrors or anything on the walls. We called it our little convent room since it really looks like where we'd live if we were nuns! The...

Just back today from a 3 night stay at The Crosti (£176 for 2 people for the duration via lastminute.com). As the previous reviewer noted, the hotel is aproximately 10 minutes walk away from the termini (main train/metro/bus station) & is easily found once you have your bearings. The Trevi fountain is aproximately 30 minute walk away for those who...

Just come back from a two night stay at the Crosti. It's in a great location just 10 minutes stroll from the main railway/metro station. The hotel is quite new and the room was modern if a little small. The bathroom was spacious and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast...

We stated at the Crosti for two nights in November. The hotel is clean and we felt safe. The location is excellent and the area around the Termini wasn't as sketchy as some reviews have made it sound. The front desk staff are helpful but are by no means friendly. We felt bad asking them for anything. All in all,...

We stayed at the Crosti hotel for 3 nights in October. I picked this hotel after reading Tripadvisor reviews. We took the train from the airport to the Termini and it was an easy walk from there, although if you are hauling suitcases it will likely take you a bit longer than the hotel says it will, I would say...

On arrival met by Paulo, the owner, who explained there had been a problem with the water supply and we were going to stay at the apartments he also owns. Read about this happening before so was not worried and the apartment was lovely so we stayed there for the 4 nights. Perfect place for easy access to the whole...

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Crosti Hotel and have nothing but positive things to say. Giovanni, Boris, Adrian and Said plus the ladies in the breakfast room could not have been more helpful or friendlier. The hotel location was perfect--just a 10 minute walk to the Termini Station and within walking distance of most of the...

We stayed in this Hotel for one night only, and to be fair it was perfectly adequate. The room was a bit on the small side, as was the bathroom. Its only 200 metres from Termini train station. We arrived at 22:30, navigating through the back streets of Rome was nerve racking. I wouldn't advise staying any longer than one...

Just spent 4 nights at Crosti hotel. Rooms nice and modern. Staff helpful. Recommend buying the Roma pass from the hotel 20 euros. Gets 3 day travel on the metro or buses, gets you in to 2 museums free (used it for colosseum/formum and a museum near termini) then rest reduced. Felt good walking past everyone in the colosseum queue...

I stayed here for three nights from Oct 5th to Oct 8th. Arriving in Rome in the evening, I took the Leonardo Da Vinci Express train to Termini Station in central Rome, as I had read that the Crosti Hotel was approximately 500metres walk from the station. As it was dark I had a little trouble in finding it. I...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
