We went with my wife for honeymoon to Rome and this place was really great. Price was OK, room was clean and cleaned everyday very nicely. Wifi was working almost whole time and staff was very nice. Downsize is a lousy street but every street in Rome is lousy, anyway it is fun to watch traffic from window while having...

We come tomRome for vocations, so we wanted a cheap hotel to stay. This hotel.is the best choice. The rooms are very very clean, every day the service cleans it, (they even fold our pijamas) the people very kind. The best part is that they serv a very rich breakfast in the room. Recently renovated small hotel in an old house. Our room was little bit noisy due to location of small reception. Nice bathroom and bed. Breakfast was served to our room. Friendly and helpful personel. Good location for walks in Rome.

A small room but comfortable, clean and nice. The bathroom is modern. It is an easy walking distance from Termini and was no problem to reach on foot with luggage if you have no mobility issues. It isn't immediately easy to find so be sure to follow a map and look for the little buzzer on the wall. You then...

The positives were definitely the location; you could easily get to all the main attractions by foot. The restaurants in the area are also nice. We found the staff of the hotel very nice, too. The room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed and tidy bathroom. We were provided with some all over shampoo and soap, so remember...

We visited this hotel on 2016 Jan. I can allocate more than one star. For a great price we received an excellent hotel. Very pleasant woman gave a map and everything in great detail told about places to visit and all the other things. Breakfast - sweet and such as are required, if you spend all day on foot in...

This very small hotel is located in a non-descript apartment building -- so it is hard to find. Luckily, two very nice Romans stopped and helped point us in the right direction. It was an easy walk from the Termini train station. It has an elevator (small), which was nice, too. The room was small, very clean and comfortable. It...

The so called hotel is located in the city center somewhere close to the train station. Please be aware that it is not very close to the main attractions. In fact, I would not choose this neighbourhood if I would come to Rome again. This is not like a usual two or three star "hotel" you are used to see...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
