- Basically its one large room converted into 4 smaller rooms. Walls are paper thin and be prepared not to fall asleep until everyone else in the hotel does as you can hear "EVERYTHING" - After your check in don’t expect to see anyone from staff (besides the cleaning lady) - Horrible plumbing. Your shower will consist of hot to...

It's veeeeeery simple place, it was quite difficult to found because is inside of the village (we didn't know that!) It's clean, the girl was really helpfull with maps and others informations. It's a bed and breakfast place, but the breakfast is outside in a small (but nice) restaurant, so, if you wanna have a breakfast, you need take off...

I would recommend Domus Victoria to everybody! The staff was friendly, helpful and confidential. It's close to the most visited sites from Rome. You step out of the building and are in the middle of ancient Rome. It's fantastic. I will return for sure...

My family very much enjoyed our experience at the hotel. The only problem was that we did not stay long enough. The young lady that checked us in at 10:30 pm to the warmth of the young lady on the last day made a very nice impression on us. Everyone was so helpful to us, it was a little surprise...

The best part of this hotel is the host Sandra, a very helpful and cheerful person making my stay all the more homely. After major delays at airports, I emailed the hotel to advise I will be running late (as the hotel is not always attended). They immediately contacted me back via email to assure me there will be someone...

I stayed at Domus Victoria for two nights before joining an escorted tour of Italy. Everything was better than expected. The room was clean, comfortable, cozy. Decor was lovely, just like the pictures on the website, modern but not too spartan. Service was great before and after check-in. They arranged for a car service to pick me up at FCO...

We stayed for 5 nights in September. This is the common situation of an owner letting out rooms, staff sometimes available, and breakfast by a coupon for a cafe. We found our room quiet and clean. Our large window faced out on the courtyard. We were disturbed on one instance by loud talking in the courtyard, and an Italian women...

My stay at Domus Victoria was excellent. The hotel is located very near the Colesseum and therefore is quite a bargain at the rate offered. Flavia and her staff were excellent and very helpful in working with the airlines to coordinate delivery of my late luggage. Overall, highly recommended.

This B&B is about 15 mins walking from the train station (with luggage). The room was large and clean but had no A/C, which was a nightmare in Rome's August heat! I don't know why none of the other reveiwers have mentioned this. We had to open the window, letting all the nighttime noise in, which was not very condusive...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The new management of the renewed Domus Victoria Guesthouse started in October 2013, inheriting a tradition of courtesy and friendly hospitality from the previous administration. The host is now Giorgia, a girl in love with her town, who runs the place with a big smile and accuracy of details; the help of her family and her Mom's biscuits help creating a homely atmosphere. Then there's Sandra: a pillar of the Guesthouse, with her kind willingness to help and give advice to our guests. An equipped kitchen where Italian sweet breakfast is served in the morning and a small, cosy balcony (for smokers) are the common spaces of the Guesthouse. Free tea and coffee are available at any time together with fresh fruit of the season. A wi-fi free connection is at disposal for guests h24. Our staff is always willing to suggest activities in town that can match your interests. The notice board at the entrance is up to the date with current expositions, events and concerts. Domus Victoria welcomes its guests in five private rooms with bathroom and all comforts. Pieces of art are hanging from the walls matching a simple and warm furnishing. All rooms are luminous and, although the nearness to the lively Piazza Vittorio, the insulating windows ensure a quiet sleep. Private fridge, water boiler, t.v., hairdryer and ceiling fan are provided in every room. A free service for our guests: a mobile phone with rechargeable Italian number is available on demand. The neighborhood has recently been elected by writers, directors and actors as the pilgrimage destination that fulfills their need for inspiration. Despite its chaotic appearance Piazza Vittorio is the place where changes are happening in Rome, where a modern multi-ethnical society is rising and the future of this town is constantly within your sight, still surrounded by the ancient, unchangeable vestiges of our glorious history. Domus Victoria is your home in the heart of the real Rome. The neighborhood Esquilino is one of the most colorful and exciting places in town: the gardens with their Magic Door, the market, the food... Built on a hill between the Central Station and Colosseo, it is placed in a tactical position from where everything is within walking distance: the fancy Rione Monti, the crowded University district, the hipster quarter Pigneto as well as the monumental ancient Rome and the main Churches. Vatican is easily reachable by underground in about 15 minutes. Termini Train Station can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. ... more   less
