Mr Frills is in an excellent location for exploring Rome. Giampiero is a great host who takes time to give you advice on places to visit & eat while in Rome. We enjoyed the fact we could easily walk to the Colosseum and that the metro station was a few minutes walk. This allowed us to easily reach the other...

Mr. Frills HAS to be one of the best value places to stay in Rome. When you walk in, the common living area is huge, and it is very contemporary and clean. There are only a few rooms, and they all have very high ceilings and thick walls so they are very private. Apparently all rooms were occupied but we...

We were two mature couples that stayed for four days at this bed and breakfast and had a wonderful time. The host, Giampiero, was very helpful and a delight to talk with. We got lost finding the place (better directions from Termini would be helpful) and all it took was a phone call and our friendly host on a bicycle...

We had a brilliant stay here in October. Our rooms were large, airy and clean. Very central for all tourist hot spot and extremely good value for money. The owner was very friendly & really helpful. Recommended a family run restaurant nearby and the food was absolutley glorius!! When we go back we will definately stay here again. This was...

The B&B is located in a more authentic area of Rome, i.e. not completely packed with tourists (which is hard to find!), i.e. authentic people, food, cafes, and prices! It has excellent access to public transport, while the centre, collosseum, spanish steps, are all within easy walking distance. As you can see on the pictures, the B&B is very nicely...

LOCATION: We had a very tough time finding this B & B. It's not because it's hard to find...it's because we are not used to the way the address works. The street address is Piazza Emmanuelle 2. There is a park there ...and the street address is the 4 streets that surround the perimeter of the park. Remember that. It...

We stayed in Mr. Frills in June 2007 for 5 days and were very pleased with this B&B. The room was very spacious, with a high ceiling, its own bathroom and a balcony with view on a park. It was very tastefully furnished and newly decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom very clean. The B&B...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
