We went to Rome for our Easter holidays and stayed at Eurostar Saint John's for five nights. Pluses: The room was on the smaller side but nice and clean and the staff was very courteous. The hotel is walking distance to Manzoni station and also literally 10mins walk to the Coliseum. Free mini bar was always well stocked. Minuses: when...

The hotel staff were very friendly but unfortunately when we arrived our booking has been cancelled which causes us to panic a lot! Luckily they had room so we were able to stay anyway. After a long day of walking we returned to the hotel and our room stank! It was like something had died in there! We told the...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Saint John for 4 nights when visiting Rome. We arrived late at night and was welcomed by such a nice man in the reception, giving us maps and telling us how to get around. Everyone we met working at the hotel spoke very good english and were so nice. Some of the reviews...

The room condition was not so 'fancy' as it seemed on the photos, maintenance needed to walls etc., the toilet was broken and after flushing the water kept running, the personel was not so helpful, I had to call 2 times to the reception and ask for someone to come and check, the guy told me he fixed it without...

The worst customer service ever, I wish there is an option with zero star, started when we entered to our room to find they fave us rooms in front of the school, 2. Asked the reception to turn the air condition on, they rejected to turn it on and asked us to leave the hotel if we don't like, the...

Firstly fantastic location- only minutes to everything, longest walk Vatican City about 40 mins but well worth walking as you see so much more. My husband and I have just returned from four night stay at the hotel which was a good choice for a city break. Hotel was clean, room had everything needed for a short break, but the best, was how kind and helpful the staff were, especially the female receptionist who looked after us very well

the room was clean and the service was wonderful and the breakfast was great! the room space was a little small for us but maybe because they added two twin beds for my two children which was wonderful of them so I am not complaining !

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
