The location is so very very perfect, just beside the very big Termini station, and then it is ok to live there like if we were camping. The rooms are very old and everything very old, but nice clean. The doors are terrible, they cannot close without waking up the hole floor. The showers are very old but also ok....

The only good thing about this hotel is the convenient location, as it is close to Termini and there is a convenience store on the opposite of the street. I stayed at room 33, which was a quadroom. This room was much smaller than the quadroom next to it. Also the bathroom was dirty. I didn't really feel like showering...

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights during our visit to Rome. The location is perfect! It takes only a couple of minutes to get there from Termini station, which makes it convenient to arrive, get around and depart. However, due to the location there was traffic noise and the church bell woke us up every morning around 6...

Incredibly noisy. Every door has a snap close device that creates a resounding boom every time a door is closed. The doors also all have big gaps at the bottom so that the noise in the hallway is sure to make you feel like you are in the hallway. Even turning the key in the lock makes an enormous noise....

paid 30 euros for a night in a single with a shared bathroom. It was fine and is perfectly located outside the Termini Station and the bus stop for transfer to the airport. Reception is 24 hours - i had to leave at 4.30am. The reception staff spoke good english, provided a map and a discount voucher for the pizza...

The receptionist can handle customer well and speak english. No wireless but provide internet with fee. The room and bathroom is just ok but not so pleasant. This hotel is cheap and suitable for solo traveler who dont cares and just want to have a sleep there. For honeymoon please find somewhere else. For backpackers and on budget can take...

Positioned opposite termini making everywhere easy to get too, the marsala is a budget hotel which only has shared bathrooms and toilets but there kept clean all day. The rooms are plain with enough space to relax, there not modern just a table and chairs, wardrobe, bed, ceiling fan, and a fridge. Staff were all fab and helpfull and breakfast...

We stayed here two nights trying to stick to a budget. It was the worst decision I have made all trip.. no ever! The staff were very rude and unfriendly for starters, then when we saw our room it looked like a place people go to die, I did not want to spend one minute in it let alone two...

No air but a very noisy fan, rooms are not clean at all, the staff is rude. The only good thing? 2 minutes from train station. the price of 85 dollars was way high for this lousy hotel/motel. The staff was very annoying and kept of serving other customers while not completing any transactions. The water bottle 2.50 euro and...

We stayed there for only one night, because we were waiting for a connecting flight next day and we didn't want to stay at the very expensive hotels at the airport area. That's the main reason why we chose Hotel Marsala- it is located just in front of the main railway station Termini - good location for those who are...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
