The woman was fully available and open to any request. One day she could not be in the structure and she gave us a free breakfast in the next door bar. The wifi worked but in the farest room had a poor signal. The position of the hotel is in a bad neighbourhood (the chinese one)

I was met by Emma who is a delightful lady, cross with me because my train was late. She is a formidable character who efficiently shows you around speaking very fast in what I will call ' Italanglais'. Very pleasant and thorough although my tiny brain could not remember the sequence of the four keys needed to enter my room....

It was our 2nd visit in this hotel and we were satisfied, calm house and good location. Only in the room number 2 it would be good to repair a sink. We felt unpleasant smell. It is also pitty that the breakfast are served now inside of the house in nearby bar. Your home caffee was unforgettable.

As this is my 4th trip to Rome this was just right for us. Comfortable, simple and central for getting around. Trams a block away, the Termini a short walk, The Forum and Colosseum a 15 min walk away. Some good good cafes that are not tied to Hotels nearby, a supermarket, a laundromat for clothes washing (12 euros to...

This B&B is situated reasonably close to Rome Termini station. Top floor (with lift). Comfortable bed good clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was a mix of continental and Italian. Keep the contact number handy in case there is no reply to the bell. 4 restaurants at the corner of the street - all good. Easy walk to Coliseum and the...

Great value and for the price, one can't really complain. Located a ten minute walk from the termini station, so pretty central and whilst not the most salubrious of areas, it felt safe, as indeed the whole of Rome does. The landlady was very helpful and friendly, and the room was large and clean. My room was slightly noisy from...

Let me start off with this, ATTN: This B&B has no reception, and you have to e-mail them a rough estimate on when you'll be at the place. If you need a landmark, it's behind Radisson Blu if you're coming from Roma Termini station. It's a nice B&B with a pretty so-so location. The surrounding might be a bit shady,...

I had a great experience at Al Gran Veliero. The room was normal and what you would expect for the price. Not bad at all. The breakfast wasn't bad either. Again, what you would expect. The location is great. Just a 5 minute walk from the Roma Termini station and the Vittorio Emanuele metro stop. I know some people have...

This B&B is often classed as a backpackers stay.......... I would beg to differ both my Husband & I are in our 50s and would highly recommend it to couples of any age. We stayed for 7 nights. The location is excellent 20 minute walk from the Termini and Colosseum. 10 mins from 2 metro stops and supermarket. Numerous cafes...

The manager of the place Serena was really nice - she called me two days before I was supposed to check in to confirm my reservation and when we were not at the b&b at the time of check in (as we were a bit lost finding the place), she called and confirmed that we were in the right direction....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
