Central location, perfect for all sightseeing and good restaurants. Room (economy) was at the back and quiet. Although small it had an excellent bathroom and was spotlessly clean. Staff were extremely helpful and we had a lovely surprise on my birthday. We are planning a return trip next March/April.

We were here for a short two night stay. The staff who met us were able to speak English well (though other staff did not, it wasn't an issue). We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a significantly larger room than we had booked - greatly appreciated! The room was spacious, clean and the air conditioning worked well. I... More

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and had a very nice time. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the bedroom was spacious and clean and the bed really comfy! The hotel is well located ( 10 min walking from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum). There is also lot of nice places to eat or have a drink... More

Centrally located. Bathroom had moldy shower and not much room. Easy to walk to sites. Front desk staff was rude on occasion when asked for assistance. Hotel lost power one day during our stay. Breakfast was under staffed, ran out of coffee and cups. I bussed my own table one morning.

I went To Roma with my mom to make a little trip between mother and daughter, and we were in this hotel, in a sympathic room. What’s was really pleasant is the place where we took the breakfast. The hotel is related with a little coffee house on a little square not far from the hotel. It was a delightful... More

The hotel is easy to locate, close to the train station and most of the heritage site. Rooms are clean and reception staff were very warm and helpful. Breakfast was basic. Booking was easy and the staff responded to email enquiries promptly.

We arrived midnight at Rome termini station from Amsterdam & it took us around 15 minutes walk to the hotel. I must admit that it took us some time to locate the hotel because the hotel signage can only be seen once you've walk through a 10 meters walkway from the main street. We glad we found it before sunrise.... More

This is well located near the main train station and not far from the Coloseum. The room was small but clean and functional and the air conditioning worked. Breakfast was OK albeit small dinning area. Reception were generally helpful and there is a small working elevator.

Keeping in mind the 2 star rating, this hotel was excellent. I stayed here in December on my last trip to Italy but have been slack in getting a review done. I stayed in a triple room with friends at the beginning of my trip and a single room at the end of my trip. Both times I found the... More

The Hotel Cavour is one of the many small family-run hotels that proliferate around Termini station. It in in an excellent location, on Via Cavour, just minutes from Termini; the rooms are accessible by a small elevator within a large apartment building. Our room was barely adequate - good size, but with worn and chipped furniture, spotty paintwork, and watermarks... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
