Mary and Carlos are great hosts. This 2 star hotel is in a great location. Near all forms of travel and minutes from the train station. There is a restaurant right next door that is really good. We ate there most nights. The rooms are not fancy nor spacious but the price is right. And the Inn keepers are really,...

We stayed here in April 2017 for 5 nights. Great location as close walking distance from Termini. The room was very spacious with large closet and safe, the king bed was firm and comfortable, and the basket of fresh morning cornetti and juice were wonderful! They also have a basket with snacks, coffee, tea, small pot, and a small stocked...

Mary and Carlo are the perfect hosts with providing lots of information, going the extra mile on service and the accommodation is clean, safe and well located. It was our third visit to Roma in April 2016 and we were accompanied by my sister and her husband. They too appreciated Welrome and the friendly caring approach Mary and Carlo give....

My wife and I recently stayed at the hotel Welrome for our honeymoon. Both Mary and Carlo were wonderful hosts and made sure every aspect of our stay was pleasant and comfortable. Each morning, a generous supply of juice, coffee and delicious croissants were supplied free of charge. Both Mary and Carlo were very helpful in giving directions to local...

We stayed at the hotel in Mid- May 2016. This is a small and quaint hotel with only 7 rooms (so book in advance). You get all at a very moderate price. I had done extensive research months before and run across this little hotel treasure on several websites. There were nothing but rave reviews. So I inquired further to...

We highly recommend you stay here. Our room was comfortable and reasonably priced. Carlo and Mary gave us all sorts of wonderful hints about seeing Rome which greatly added to our experience! They are wonderful hosts! The complimentary delicious, fresh, crispy croissants, orange juice, and basket of tea, coffee, and jam/biscuits was enough to get us moving in the morning...

We booked two rooms in May 2014 at the Welrome Hotel. It was only a 5 minute walk to Termini Station. The location was fantastic with most of ancient Rome within walking distance. The rooms were clean and simple which is all we needed. The absolute highlght was Mary & Carlo, they should be listed as Italy's National Treasures their...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
