I booked this room for my adult son who decided to join us last minute on our trip to Rome. There was no availability in our hotel, but I found Domus Livia virtually opposite. The location is great, just a few minutes from the Metro (Republica) and a 15 minute walk from Termini main train station. Many of the sights...

We've just spent 3 nights here with our 7 and 9 year old boys. The location, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff couldn't have been better. However, the word 'luxury' should not be used to describe the rooms. The decor was very dated and tired, and the beds were incredibly hard (I recommend putting blankets under the sheets). The children...

Dear Madam, Thanking you for you review, we are sorry for your disappointment about the bed and as soon you told us about it, we added a double mattress to avoid felt the bed too hard but usually, most the customers want the hard bed. We were surprised to read your children slept on the camp beds, we would like...

Hard beds that make your hips hurt, bedspreads with white marks, cold showers because they forgot to turn the hot water on, toilet seats loose, no staff around from 7pm - 8 am, stale rolls for breakfast ..... No luxury here other than location!

Staying in the Domus Livia is like staying at home - cosy, clean, nice and best located for any/many sightseeings. I just came here with my girlfriend for a few days. We're student and for what we paid we were just expecting nothing but a bed. Instead of this, the room was large and comfortable, with a perfect location within the city. The staff was adorable and we had a wonderful time here. Thanks for everything Domus Livia, we'll come...

My husband and I were so pleased with our stay here. We arrived in the middle of the night and it was a quick walk from the bus station where we were let off and then the directions of receiving our keys from the lock box were clear and easy to follow. The hotel was clean, nice large towels, simple...

This hotel was one of the highlights of my stay in Rome. From being greeted by knowledgeable and hospitable staff to the fresh bread and croissant breakfast included, the stay was exquisite. They also have a deal with a delicious and reasonably priced restaurant right around the corner (10% off). The hotel itself is very close to a subway station...

We were happy with the hotel considering the price. Breakfast was provided every morning in a basket on our door meaning no restricting eating times, however it was the same every day and a variation would have been nice. The room was cleaned to a high standard daily but was in need of decoration and the shower door did not...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
