I wanted to get to live in a locally-decorated place, and I got it with this accommodation. It's very well located near a bus stop and a tram stop, in an old neighbourhood of Trastevere. Breakfast, while included, is actually some food left out of and in a fridge: yoghurts, milk, juices; cakes, toasts, jams, butter. A coffeemaker and a...

We were so pleased we booked this cute room , as it had everything required and the air-conditioning was an added bonus ( 97 degrees everyday). The room was just as photos show and everything was very clean. Rafaella was wonderful and helpful , she comes over whenever you need her. It was so peaceful and quiet at night ,...

The Kimama B&B is perfectly located in a wonderful neighborhood, away from the tourist crowds, but not far from the city's main attractions and a short walk across the Tiber River. It is also close to public transportation. The neighborhood has plenty of great cafes and restaurants, and a local piazza with a bustling night life. We stayed four nights...

Our room was like a huge hotel suite, but at the same time like borrowing a great friends apartment. Spacy bedroom. Big, fully equipped kitchen with fridge and modern gas stove. And the bathroom is the size of the Vatican.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights about 10 days ago. This is a gem of a place in a quiet street of Rome's most active nightlife area - Trastevere. It is owned by a wonderful and gracious lady, Rafaella. She is there when you need her, at the same time, you are totally on your own. The...

We stayed here just over a week ago. We absolutely loved it here. The owner, Raffaella, was extremely helpful and kind. She gave us recommendations on where to eat; places that she likes; restaurants that are not overrun by tourists. The recommendations were most excellent. Our room was so tastefully decorated with fantastic little touches here and there. Our view...

My husband and I spent five days in Rome and Kimama was the perfect location for our first time here. The owner Raffaella was most helpful with directions, shopping and eating-out suggestions, as well as bus routes, etc. She even made dinner reservations for us. The room was fine, lovely decor and very comfortable. The good coffee machine helped. It...

Lovely little hotel. Such cute, beautifully decorated room and the owner Raffaella was very kind and friendly (and speaks english well). The location is superb, Trastevere is beautiful area and you can easily walk around in Rome from here. I booked the room that hasn't got a kitchen in it but there was a tiny fridge in the room which...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
