This B&B was a jewel. You could see the dome of St Peters Basillica from the porch of our room and Vatican City was about a 20 minute walk from where we stayed. Filomena was so kind and gave us so much info about getting and around and what we should try to see. The rooms and bathrooms were SO clean. The bedrooms were beautifully appointed with splendid antiques and crisp cotton sheets. Everything was within walking distance from the B&B and we have made a vow that we will return to Rome and will 100 percent stay with them again. We felt like family staying at a relatives home. I can not say enough great things about this place...

Stay: 13th September 2008

Enjoyed our stay at F & F Bed & Breakfast. Owners were there to meet my husband and myself when we arrived to give us a warm wellcome. As we arrived we put our things into our room and went down by walk to the Vatican which is only 15 - 20 mins walk from the residence. There are two Metro stations nearby and a local bus which stops you in Via Guiliana.

A lot of shops to see and places to eat along the way too. Filumena prepared a good breakfast every morning and together with her husband was very helpful in giving us useful information to our wherabouts and places to visit and bus numbers.

Our room was very spacious and also very well equipped with a good sized bathroom which surely wont be found in a hotel. Air condition could also be used in hot weather for no extra cost.

Both owners speak English so comunication was good between us. We stayed in Rome for 5 nights and left the next morning and it is quite easy to get around with the Metro and the map provided by the owners.
If my husband and I will ever return to Rome we would surely consider coming back to this residence instead of any hotel and we would surely recommend it to any one.

Situated only a short walk from the Vatican, Filomena e Francesca's B&B is an excellent base to see and explore the magical city of Rome. The apartment and bedrooms are immaculately clean. Our hosts were ideal, available when you have a question and discreet when you want your own space. Really great value for money.

Fantastic b&b in Rome. Great neighborhood location with lots of small, local restaurants to try and within walking distance to the Vatican. The bus stop is right across the street and we found the public transportation very easy to use to get around. The room was very clean and breakfast was a typical Italian start to the day - cappuccino and a roll - but tasty. The owners were very helpful with showing us where to go and how to get there and they arranged for a taxi to pick us up to take us to the airport. Couldn't ask for anything better!! Would stay stay here again and we highly recommend it! Oh, and there's a great view of St. Peter's Basilica from the balcony.

We had an opportunity to stay at both locations run by this wonderful, warm, welcoming family - Via della Giuliana 72 and Via Tommaso Campanella, 41. Both are welcome retreats from the hustle and bustle of the city. The location at Via Tommaso Campanella, 41 is hidden away further from street and neighborhood noise. The family was very helpful - with small things like helping us to find an adapter and big things like being able to accommodate us at the very last minute when other arrangements fell through. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Filomena & Francesco B&B was pleasant & welcoming for our first visit to Bella Roma. Filomena & Franco were most helpful with directions, where to eat, sights to see & calling us cabs. With a mix up in reservations for my sister & her husband, Filomena & Franco were able to change things around in order to accomodate them & my sister & her hubby were most grateful.
The rooms were clean & comfortable beds were welcoming after some long days of touring & seeing many beautiful sights of the city.
Filomena made good cappachinos for my husband which he enjoyed every morning!
Also the idea that the owners were on the premise made us feel comfortable as other B&B's that we visited, that was not the case.
The small elevator (definitely no dancing!!) up nine floors was out of order one day but we managed OK.
Thank you Filomena & Francesca for making our stay enjoyable & memorable.

Anyone considering staying in a B&B, whether in Rome or elsewhere, should understand that they are not hotels. You must not expect all of the varied services to be found in a hotel, but in place of that -- if you are fortunate, as we were at F & F B&B in Rome -- you will be surprised at the warm hospitality and personal attention you often receive in such places. We stayed here for 10 nights in late January / early February 2009, and it was a total delight. The host and hostess are very friendly, speak English quite well, and are most eager to help in any way possible. Our room was spacious and well appointed, with an excellent bed and a nice bathroom with shower. Complimentary internet service is available via a laptop permanently set up in the lounge area. Breakfast was "Continental," but with a larger selection of choices than usual (including a nice selection of cereals!), and always included a delicious, freshly-baked delicacy from the hostess. Because we spent much of our time at the Vatican, the location was ideal -- an easy 15-minute stroll on flat terrain to St. Peter's Square. But if you like to walk, it is only another half hour's stroll from there on to the classic destinations of "Old Rome" - Castle San Angelo, the Forum, the Colosseum, the Villa Borghese, etc. A ten minute walk will take you from the B&B to the nearest metro stop, and two bus lines just steps from the door can connect you to virtually anywhere in the city. An ample selection of restaurants is available within a few blocks. The price was certainly right too -- far less than you would expect to pay in area hotels -- and credit cards are cheerfully accepted. Where you stay can have a lot to do with how much you enjoy your visit to a foreign city, and we would certainly recommend this establishment most highly to anyone planning a trip to Rome. I stayed in F&F's B&B for almost a month in May/June 2005, and I have nothing but praise: the location was excellent (walking distance from the Metro), the room (actually, it was a small apartment) was perfect, and the owners were extremely nice and cooperative.

For over a decade I have been spending a month in Rome every spring, so I have quite a bit of experience in different hotels, B&B, and apartments, in locations all over Rome. Quite positively, this has been one of my best experiences!

I wish I could reserve it for my 2006 visit, but unfortunately, I have been late in my reservation request.

Note: This review refers to the B&B of Filomena and Francesca at 41 Via Tommaso Campanella, not the one in Via della Giuliana.

We stayed at this b&b in sept. 05 and found the room ok. Breakfast was well below average for all the places we stayed in Italy during our month there. It was very hot and the a/c didnt work very well. The hosts were friendly enough but only to say hello. Not exactly what we experienced elsewhere in Italy. If you just want a place to sleep its great.

My wife and I, along with our two boys (ages 6 & 3), just spent 2 nights at B&B Filomena e Francesca. Good location, less than a 10 minute walk to the Vatican and the nearest Metro stop. The B&B is warm, clean and friendly - great views. Breakfast was basic, but very good. The owners are wonderful hosts, very helpful with directions, etc. We dould stay here again for sure.
