There are places you enjoy so much that you want to keep them your own secret, but on second thoughts you also want others to share them. B&B Arco del Lauro is one of them, four rooms in a quiet part of Trastevere, with breakfast served in a bar round the corner. The owner, Lorenza Sardo, kindly offered to arrange...

Lorenza and Daniella provided an exceptional level of service and did their very best to ensure that we got the most out of our stay in Rome. The location of the B&B can't be beat. So close to all the sites in Rome yet far enough to escape the crowds. Many great restaurants, shops, cafes and a really great used...

We spent five days in Rome at Feb half-term. Loved the city (although it was very cold!) which the B&B was extremely well placed to explore. Very short walk (c. 100m) to the Tiber and then you're in the historic quarter. Trastevere is a great base too - good mix of quiet (where the B&B is) and livelier places a...

Friendly & helpful Lorenza made our 8-night stay at the Arco del Lauro a delight. I thoroughly agree with the last two reviews from Belfast and CT. This is our 4th trip to Rome, and we found this quiet B&B only 2 blocks from the Tiber River an ideal location to reach all of the sites in Rome whether you...

My girlfriend and I can only support all of the other good reviews of this place. We spend 7 nights around New Year and the staff was friendly, the room was nice and clean with a new bathroom, the area was quiet and away from the tourists. The weather during our stay was quite cold, but the lobby and room...

Stayed at Arco del Lauro for 4 great nights & found everything perfect. Daniella's warm welcome set the scene for a truly comfortable stay in a Roman "home from home". Situated in lively Trastevere & perfectly placed for trams & buses to the tourist spots, we enjoyed peace & tranquility when we needed to rest but were right in amongst...

This is a gem of a place in Trastevere (in the quieter part of this lively quarter east of Viale Trastevere). Lorenza has used her obvious intelligence to create a real home from home. Lovely clean, quiet rooms, simple but more than adequate shower/bathroom, internet computer in the lobby plus tea and coffee making facilities (really rare in Italy). In...

Spent 2 nights at Arco Del Lauro and had a great time. The location is excellent- so convenient to all the restaurants in Trastevere and within walking distance to most of the main sites in Rome. Lorenza the owner is very friendly and helpful- the taxis arranged for the airport were spot on (40 Euro). The room we had was...

This B&B was the perfect choice for our family of four traveling with a friend. The girls (12 and 14) loved the Trastevere neighborhood with its narrow cobblestone streets, shops, and trattorias. We loved it too. Arco del Lauro is so close to the Tiber River -- we often crossed the bridge through Isola Tiberina to eat or wander through...

We stayed at Arco del Lauro for 9 nights and found it to be the perfect choice. It was affordable, clean and extremely well located. We were able to walk absolutely everywhere from the forum to the vatican to the appain way and even the spanish steps. The rooms are plain but comfortable and the management is friendly and very...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
