It's always difficult to book a cheap AND clean accomodation for a school group of 40 students and 4 teachers. Hotel Cervia certainly met up to our standards: the rooms and bathrooms were kept clean during our entire stay, repairs were swiftly dealt with (within one day!) and the staff was ever so helpful and relaxed, even when we asked... We stayed at the hotel for three nights. Good continental breakfast included in our room price, safe in room which gave some extra comfort and good location, close to station and within walking distance to sites. Staff not unfriendly as some other reviews suggested. Bedding maybe slightly old. Good bathroom/shower. Also note that there is no English television in Italy,... More

About 5-10 minutes walk to the north of Termini station. There are pizzerias and gelaterias next door. We never had any trouble finding food whatsoever. The room is big compared to all other budget accommodations that we have stayed in during our trip in Western Europe. WiFi is excellent.

First i want to say how helpful and friend the staff (especially Sandra and Luigina) are -- they were very welcoming. As far as the hotel -- at this price point you can't beat it; Close to train and metro station so easy to get anywhere in the city. Rome was small but clean and comfortable. Only small downside is... Budget friendly hotel located near the central station, and along a relatively busy street with quite a number of good restaurants. No lift, no air condition (just a fan in the room, which was not enough for us during summer), no water provided, one wifi password per person (which can only be used for one device). Toilet was really cramped... More

We've stayed here twice and have enjoyed it both times. The location is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. It's only a five minute walk to the cathedral. There are places for breakfast right around the corner. Can't ask for much more!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
