Random guy showed us to room & asked us for room tax (21 euros each). Later on we found out that it should have been 21 euros together. We spoke to the manager and they denied that they took 42 euros from us.

A few rooms with offsite staff. Have to coordinate arrival time. Not a lot of space, but that's normal for Rome. Good shower. Close to train station. Elevator in the building helps. Basic breakfast. Good overview of town.

Friendly host, who was waiting for us across the street when we had a late check-in, stayed there for 3 nights, paid almost 90 euro's a night..so I thought this was kind of expensive. I don't feel it should be this much but we liked it anyway. The breakfast is not worth mentioned a packed dry croissant with a yelly...

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay. The owner and the girl who works for him were both so friendly and helpful. We had the en suite room which was small but had lots of Cupboard space and was spotless clean.with views over looking the pretty court yard. The kitchen area was shared with a fridge microwave and coffee machine which made...

Best location you can have. So close to Termini station that u don't even have to carry your suitcase for any grumpy roads or staircases. There's a lift in the building. A mini supermarket on the street across the corner and a couple of nice restaurants nearby as well. The only thing is the neighborhood is kind of insecure at...

Stayed here for 2 nights (supposed to be 4 but I will get to that). Couldn't find the place to begin with, taxi driver tried buzzers on the complex gates to no avail) eventually we were met by nice young lady who was very surprised at our arrival as she wasn't expecting us. After she spoke with her boss she...

We spent 6 nights at the Lilliput hostel in our visit to Rome. The place is well located and clean but that is all when it comes to positive remarks. Our flight landed in Rome with a small delay, and the owner Giorgio made us pay 20 euro extra just because we arrived one hour later than the latest "check-in"....

For two students travelling we didn't expect much from hostel accommodation, but Lilliput had the comfiest beds and best running shower we'd had in our month travelling Europe. The owners are lovely and so helpful, rooms cleaned daily with fresh sheets, towels and food. Plus the location is right next to Termini station and so easy to walk everywhere. Totally...

This is a mini hostel transformed from an apartment, and offers spacious rooms with well-equipped common facilities. It is advised to call the owners before arrival, because it is easy to miss and there is no reception. Breakfast is dry junk food, I did not eat it. My rating reflects two problems we faced at our arrival. The first was...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
