Hotel Camelia is located about 10 min walk from the train terminal. Very convenient to get to train and subway. Since it is close to the train station the area looks a bit seedy at night. The hotel is right across from the police station so I feel a bit better when I am close by the hotel The room...

Dear Sir/Madam, thank you very much for your review. We are close to the train station but the area is really safe. We recently had issues with the wifi connection because of the huge amount of devices connected. We are going to install a new wifi system soon. Best regards, Giuseppe

After traveling around Italy and staying in three different hotels this ended up being my favorite. It had its problems but most do. Things I liked about this hotel include, air conditioning that worked, adequate bathroom space, comfortable beds, windows you could open if wanted but when closed blocked out all street noise, close to train station for getting from...

Dear Sir/Madam, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you mentioned our comfortable beds, air conditioning system and soundproof windows. We serve continental breakfast, which included a variety of croissants, sweets, jams, juices, yogurt, cold cuts, cheeses and more. There is no self service for coffee because our staff prepares coffee with instant minced coffee grains. We do not...

This was our first trip to Rome and we booked this hotel because it was recommended by our travel company. The room was small but very clean and comfortable (very typical of a European hotel). Breakfast was very good and staff was very, very friendly and helpful! The location turned out to be inconvenient for us. We had a hard...

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your feedback, all reviews are important to us. Each of our rooms respect the minimum size regulation established by local authorities. As you said, just like all European hotels We are sorry you couldn't find a place to eat, since in the area there are some of the best restaurants, pizzerias and gelaterias in Rome....

Was very impressed with this Hotel, from the checkin through to checkout. Seems all the gentlemen who were at reception could speak 3 or 4 languages fluently, which l found very relieving. The rooms were small, but air con worked very well, bathroom was A+! Great location, and we found a real great spot to eat each night just round...

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for pointing out that our front desk staff members speak 3 or more languages, their goal is to make each of our guests's experiences even better with their recommandations. All of the rooms respect size regulation and most of our rooms are even bigger than standard size. Hope to see you again. Best regards, Giuseppe

This hotel was a nice surprise. It was very clean. The folks at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. It is close to Termini Station. Breakfast in the morning was included, meats, cheese, yogurt, pasteries, eggs, cereal and the coffee was fabulous! Quiet hotel never heard any noise at night. I would recommend this hotel for folks wanting...

Dear Guest, thank you for your nice review. We are glad you wrote about our front desk staff, soundproof windows and quiet rooms, its position and the breakfast. We would like to specify that we serve continental breakfast, and the meat you talk about are cold cuts and eggs were just boiled. We do not serve cooked meat or scrambled...

My friends and I stayed at Hotel Camelia recently and for 3/4 of us, it was the first trip to Rome. We had many questions and the staff always took the time to answer them thoroughly no matter how trivial. They took their time with us and never seemed to hurry us. Our rooms were very pleasant and the beds...

Stayed at the Camelia Hotel on our trip to Rome as it was centrally located to the places we wanted to visit. Very nice small rooms that were nice and what I expected from a 3 star European hotel.( small room, clean but not a lot of wow factors) Didnt fly to Rome for the hotel and picked it because...

This was our second trip to Rome, and previously we stayed near the Via Veneto and enjoyed it tremendously. While not as "fancy" as our other hotel, the Camelia was very nice, and front desk staff made us comfortable from the minute we arrived. No doubt they tire of answering the same questions and giving countless directions each day, but...

We stayed there for 4 days to visit all the great places in Rome. The room was small but clean and the furniture looked antique, I liked the style of the room. We also got breakfast, which was okay. The staff was nice as well. We walked nearly everything from the hotel. Two subway stations were nearby, which we used...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
