Great location, clean, comfortable rooms. A bit tricky to find reception but once you do not a problem. Not particularly happy with my room assignment, one window facing the courtyard. Asked for an upgrade but never received it. All in all good place to stay...More
My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in April. The hotel appears to be in a building with residential apartments and 2 hotels. As you enter through the huge green door pass the elevator in front of you turn right through the courtyard...More

Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural
storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.

We took a cab and yes, the driver picked us up at the hotel (likewise a cab dropped us right at the hotel). I'm unsure about the shuttle (you should ask at the desk -- I think it was going to cost us nearly as much for the shuttle and perhaps it wasn't running at the times we needed -- whatever the case, I remember that the cost of the cab was not a great deal off).
