This was a perfect place for us! We needed 3 beds and private shower. It was so clean and the beds were very comfortable. The host was so helpful and kind. They speak excellent English. The location is very close to the train station and many little restaurants. They have a small elevator which is nice if you have big...

13 adults went to Rome to watch the rugby in February. This hotel was in the perfect location for trams, taxis etc. The rooms were very clean and the staff could not do enough for us. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and plenty of it. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. I would defiantly stay in the...

This quaint bed and breakfast was a lovely find and affordable stay near the metro and train station. The proprietor has so many fine touches that it feels like home. I.e. bottled water in the rooms with fresh fruit. Wonderful towels and big, fluffy pillows. They serve a nice breakfast with a very sweet wait staff. I felt very safe...

Came to Rome sporadically. The trip was unplanned, however we had a vague idea we wanted to stay here, due to a blog I had read. As an airline employee, we don't always get on the flights we want to, so we did not book in advance in case that happened, and just showed up at their door step. They...

This is a nice and cozy family-run B&B. They offer welcome fruit for guests. I'm especially impressed with their staff, who are friendly and helpful to give out the information about Rome. The breakfast is of great value, with a wide selection of salad, Italian ham, toast, fruit. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Close to Roma termini, a nice B&B. I was there for 3 nights, enjoyed. The breakfast was good, but it would be better if you can be there earlier for more choices. I saw the difference between 7.30 and 9.00. haha. Nevertheless they serve you Nespresso coffee during breakfast. The staffs are nice, and they can speak English.

Booked a one night stay through Hotels.com. The booking was guaranteed and payment was due on check in, however on the morning of the booking, it was cancelled with the excuse that they couldn't verify payment even though they wanted me to pay on arrival. The best thing about the hotel is its location - it's quite close to Rome Termini station. However, this also works against it as the area can get quite noisy with all the hotels and restaurants next door. The rooms are decent but I found them quite cluttered. There's just too much stuff on the table and in the bathrooms,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
