Well this place isn't incredibly bad to be honest. It is like a hostel from the 70-ties with its kind of charm. However it claim to be a bnb and there aren't any charming hippies around. We ordered a taxi or something that should take us to the premises directly from the owner, however the driver didn't show up and...

We were disappointed by Aenea's. We are not picky travelers so I won't go into details like water pressure, etc. But we do expect a minimal level of comfort. Upside is the price, and though some might find the neighborhood a bit dodgy, the location near the main train station lets you easily get to the metro and walk to...

On arrival, we found an old dodgy looking man sat on the doorstep to the B&B who made no attempt to move when we tried to open the door. Once we were in, we had to guess what floor it was and what door it was as there was no sign anywhere. Our room was nice enough and for the...

Really pleased with this place. The rooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms are a bit small, but have everything you need. Location is hard to beat. Right nex to the central train statio which has two main metro lines in rome. Overall great place!

I visited Rome last October with a friend and booked for Aenea's based on the price and location. The correspondence I had with the owner Federica was very prompt and personable. Although we didn't use it, they do offer a service where they can arrange transport if you aren't familiar with the city links with the airports. Some of the...

The room was excellent. Nicely decorated and good en-suite bathroom. Shower wasn't great but it was clean, well maintained and the location was good. Some reviews seem to describe the area as dodgy, but I don't think that it is by most big city standards. Arriving was a bit of an issue. We had received an email from the owner...

Aenea's B&B, Via Rattazzi, Roma. The perfect 'reasonably priced' place to stay. Rome is the city of contradictions, fun, exciting and full of fabulous people, places and off course history. Aenea's captures that 'Roma feeling', it is friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff/caretaker is very helpful and ready to give advice/guidance if asked. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
