We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 boys (aged 11 and 12). Very friendly and informative staff, great location as a base to see all of Rome, beds were big and comfortable but our room was on the ground floor and near the main entrance door. Consequently we heard every guest returning at all hours and banging...

I know this area very well, I lived nearby for 10 years, working for the UN. Now I need to come back periodically for consultancy work, and I love this hotel! I have a very very small room- but it is all I need: it is clean, it has air conditioning in this heat, and it is so well located,...

Trastevere has a bustling centre, but nearer to the river and the island is a quieter area. The Domus Tiberina is up a narrow side street just off a small square. It feels like a family run hotel. The staff, all young with excellent English, are extremely helpful and keen to offer information about their local area, of which they...

Rating this Hotel 4 star might be a bit high for some, but then this is Rome and it is not easy to find anything much better for a somewhat reasonable price. Having said that, it is not that cheap to be staying here, but the hotel is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and in all,...

Awesome location and plenty of eatery's nearby. Walking distance to the heart of Old Roma and the Vatican. Good breakfast included with vouchers from two different diners. Very helpful staff and clean rooms. Rooms a bit small but think that is common in general. Plus, who wants to hang out in the room when in Rome.

The tiny hotel has no bells and whistles but the staff are extremely friendly and the room was very clean. The location is fantastic with many restaurants nearby to choose from. We could hear noise from street but it didn't interfere with our sleep. Would book again.

Domustiberina, Direttore at Hotel Domus Tiberina, responded to this review

Dear guest, thank you for your extremely positive review! About noises from the streets, it's very unusual, due to the fact that the hotel is in a pedestrian zone, very quite during day and night. But the most important thing is that this inconvenient hasn't been a big disturb for you! If you want to visit Rome again, just call...

Dear Madam, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with you, due to the fact that the guests who were next to your room told us that during the night you knocked very rudely on their doors screaming some words they couldn't repeat. This matter for us is very serious and unforgivable, because it is a...

Wonderfully comfortable hotel in a perfect location. Dear Terry, thank you so much for your comment. We are happy you captured the peculiarity of our breakfast service. Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
