The Secret Garden is a lovely place very clean and modern and in a very central area. Our room was lovely however we did have to close the window at night as it was noisy outside (but that was only a minor issue). The staff were very helpful. On our return journey to Rome we stayed in a studio apartment...

I enjoyed very much my stay at Rome...this cozy family run hotel is very quiet and neat! Having breakfast with my wife at a garden terrace was lovely! Good location, very close to the colosseum...and great, it's a low price hotel...it surely was an important part of my unforgettable trip to Rome.

We had a lovely room which opened into a small garden. It was great to come back after a long day and relax on the garden swing! Great breakfast, not just a cornetto and coffee like most Italian hotels. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace, rich with flowers and plants. We felt like we were in a small oasis...

This hotel was absolutely suberb for our first trip to Rome! Situated just a 15 minute stroll from the historic colosseum in the city's Chinatown area, The Secret Garden is a 3 star hotel well worth its price! This hotel has a beautiful roof garden where breakfast is served every morning until 10am (and even beyond if you're a bit...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
